You don’t treat your staff like dispensable parts and expect them to look behind their own self interest even when they run contrary to the teams interests. The level of respect and involvement make the players part of a team where they know they belong and this will contribute even by sacrificing a little.

Decisions have to be made and the team sees gasoline mills and Lma as parts they want to keep. It’s not like dedman is some all nba player or something.
