all the wolves had to give up for butler was zach lavine, kris dunn, and the #7 pick. wolves will definitely get more for butler than they had to give up to get him.
Trade watch thread.
Already 4 first rd picks offered: https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1055582497377943552

Yes they will. Butler is balling out right now and didn't sabotage his trade value to the extent Leonard did. Morey would be a fool to trade those picks. CP3 is only going to get older . . .
I thought there was a rule around how many 1st round picks a team could trade? Like can't trade consecutive 1st's and can't trade more than 2 future 1sts?? Or perhaps out of those 4 picks only 2 of them are Houston's own and the other two are from other teams that they traded for previously?
Also Jimmy Butler is an underrated star imo.. he gets put in the Paul George category but he's better than George. Jimmy's advanced stats are pretty darn good (ORtg, DRtg, Real +/-, WS etc.).
Aren’t those first round picks spread out over 7 years? Y’all would be complaining about how bad we suck over that time period since we wouldn’t see all those picks play together until that entire span. Then there’s a chance you miss and get a bust. So idk. But as the poster above said.. Butler is healthy and playing well right now. Nobody knew about Kawhi’s health status so they didn’t want to offer much anyways.
Four first round picks doesn't mean a ton when those picks will likely be late 20's.
They’re over a 7 year span or something.
Agree but if they stretch two of those picks out 3 or 4 years it may entice Minny as you then have the unknown of Houston potentially becoming a lottery team once Harden/CP3 get old/move on. Those picks can quickly become lottery picks.
But he does have a player option and he intends to use it.
That makes it easier to get him now though because (like Kyrie and Kawhi) he has a comparatively low salary due to signing the last summer before the new CBA. There's a lot of benefit to trading for him now than trying to create cap room later.
