Ever since DeRozan moved from SG to SF and Gay stopped starting we started losing. I really hope Pop doesn't start White/Forbes/DeRozan/Cunningham/Aldridge tonight. He should definitely start Gay and either Forbes or White next to DeRozan.

I agree. Playing Forbes and White is essentially playing two undersized guards and that shifts DD to SF which he is not.

But if you think about it, that's a lowkey good tank strategy.

Yep, the problem is we have no actual SF so we're ed either way. Runing the Forbes/Derozan backcourt actually works pretty well with Demar acting as the primary facilitator of the offense. if spurs could get even a ing average 3/D SF for the SL we would be so much better.

From what I can tell the White - Forbes pairing doesn't work any better than the Forbes - Mills pairing. I'd forget that whole bit at this point.

To start, go with Forbes, DDR, Warmbody, LMA, Warmbody. Backed up at the guard spots by White at point, and Mills/Belinelli at the SG, I guess. Certainly worth a try, it seems to me. Try Walker right away, when he's able, at the backup 2 guard.

Might as well try some things. Nothing to lose.

There's 3 good players on this roster. Starting lineup change won't change a thing. Change our trash ass GM.

"DeRozan moving from SG to SF", "Aldridge needs to go back to playing PF", "Metu is a PF, who can play SF" . . . this board is as archaic as this organization.

Gay should be starting and White/Cunningham should be match-up based.

    Gay should be starting ...
No question about it, when he's available. Those injuries, tho.

Yeah but he has been shooting better so far. He is a undersized SG.

called it. That line up worked well ever since the season started. No reason to change it. White makes more sense coming off the bench anyway

yep, as soon as they went away from Forbes/White lineup, DD dropped 9 dimes and rightfully so. White/Forbes play hot potato with the ball too often leaving DeMar and LMA standing watching

I think Rudy Gay is still athletic and moves well enough to play a wing. Can he play stretch 4 well? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean he can't keep up with some SFs.

Shouldn't have to be forced to start Dante F'n Cunningham in 2018, but that's RC and Pop for you tbh

I like tonight’s starting line-up. White and Demar’s minutes need to be staggered. White is taking touches away from Demar while not pushing the offense to Dubs. Demar demands double team and creating opportunities. I like Gays length and outside shooting. He’s bringing the fight every possession like Ginobili did. We’re just lucky Kyle was not having a great shooting night or Forbes would be in trouble. He’s just way too short, but better than Mills in the past. If only Dante could hit more outside shots. Also Forbes is too good a shooter not to be drawn a pick and pop plays like Thompson.

That's why he needs to start. SF is a stacked position and he's still one of the top players at that position. Him playing with DeRozan and Aldridge really makes the offense click. Spurs really need an elite 3-and-D wing to pair him with in the starting line up and we could go far
