very close to a vote of no confidence, tbh.
Jesus... what a sh*t show.
https://newrepublic.com/minutes/1525...taff-turns-jobThe White House is scrambling to find a replacement for outgoing Chief of Staff John Kelly, after the presumptive replacement rejected the job. As The New York Times reports, “Nick Ayers, the main focus of President Trump’s search to replace John F. Kelly as chief of staff in recent weeks, said on Sunday that he was leaving the administration at the end of the year.” Ayers had been in negotiations with the White House to take the position, but talks broke down over several issues, including how long Ayers was expected to stay on the job. Ayers wanted the job to be temporary while the president preferred a chief of staff willing to commit to at least two years.
very close to a vote of no confidence, tbh.
young man has a bright future. he's smart to turn it down.
yeah, Ayers turned down the job.
Mulvaney not interested either.
No vibes from Mnuchin and Lighthizer...
lol shrinking pool of applicants after the firing, er, resignation, is announced.
The fact that he posted this basically confirms TNR and others' reports.
Isn't he also quitting his job with Pence? Seems like he is jumping ship.
Ayers has six year old triplets and a well-capitalized business venture. He can do better.
So he does not want to play babysitter because the rest of the family want to see the child.
Imagine that...
And the child can decide to fire the babysitter after any tantrum sticks in his brain long enough.
Somebody wanting to write a book is gonna want that job.
Oh, hey guys, Trump said it wasn't true.

"But there’s another part of the equation with Ayers that seems just as clear to me.
For that we have to go back to the late 2017 federal disclosure filings that showed
Ayers, a 36 year old man with no apparent inherited wealth, was worth between $12.2 and $54.8 million.
Most or all of that money appears to come out of Ayers’ work as a campaign operative in the increasingly lucrative world of dark money politics.
There are lots of ways a guy like Ayers gets that money.
But the central one is TV advertising.
If you control the ad budgets, you get a large slice of the cash for yourself,
usually by owning or having a stake in the company that the campaign has place the ads.
Reporting from Axios and other outlets last night says that
Ayers is planning to run the main pro-Trump outside group America First, which he helped found last year.
It seems like it was that gig that made Ayers refuse to give Trump more than a three month commitment."

Which is basically about as good a confirmation it was true as you'll ever get
Sure, if you think like a non-sycophant.
You have to get into the mindset of someone who wakes up every day thinking to himself, "How do I shill for the most powerful person in the country today?"
The first step is to strip your life of all purpose and meaningful human relationships.
Trump First Tapped William Barr For Another Job — Defense Lawyer
In late spring 2017, President Trump was having a hard time finding a topflight lawyer to spearhead his defense in the sprawling Russian investigation conducted by the new special counsel Robert Mueller.
Some of the most prominent litigators in Washington had turned aside overtures to represent the president in the case, expressing concerns that he would not listen to their advice anyway.
White House officials reached out to a man they thought would be an ideal candidate: William P. Barr, the attorney general under President George H.W. Bush.
An outspoken conservative,
Barr had gotten on Trump’s radar screen that spring after he had written a newspaper op-ed
vigorously defending the president’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey.
At one point, Barr was ushered into a brief White House meeting with Trump, who asked him if he was interested in the job, according to a source who was present for the meeting. Barr demurred.
Barr’s nomination has also raised potentially thorny political questions about how independent he would be in overseeing the Russia probe and
whether his previously expressed views defending the president — and
criticizing some aspects of the Mueller investigation —
could potentially compromise his leadership.
Flanigan and others who worked with Barr at the Justice Department expressed surprise that he would even agree to take the job.
Barr had watched with dismay Trump’s attacks on Sessions and had no interest in putting up with the same sort of abuse.
What finally changed his mind? “Patriotism,”
said Flanigan.

yeah, right, firing Comey was Trash's great patriotic move.
Will Barr be Trash's Bork, finally?
There is almost literally a tweet for everything:
Sounds like you're an expert.
The "I know you are but what am I?" rebuttal.
