I will stop short of saying he’s something truly special but he has far exceeded any expectations I could have had. Serviceable defense, passion for the game, killer outside stroke but not just a three point shooter. Props are due. More than one fan compared Forbes to a young Steph Curry. I scoffed at that comparison until this game. He may not be quite as well rounded as even a younger Steph, but he is reminiscent of one. Forbes has become one of the most important players on this team with a lot of important players.![]()
Dude is ballin but haters gonna hate
He's like Joe Harris, guy can score from anywhere (unlike a guy like JJ Re ), happy for him and Popovich for having believed in the kid
People gonna hate him in the playoffs when other team's defense tightens the screws and he is getting exposed on defense at the other end. Yea, people love him on nights like tonight where he is trading 2's for 3's though.
I remember when I was predicting he'd have a break out season and you tried ting all over that take saying Forbes was, and always will be, trash![]()
I was wrong about the "always will be" but the improvement in their game is evident
Bryn is definitely looking good and surprising a bunch of us. He is fitting in very well. Props to him.
Dammit, I think he's an NBA player. Didn't see that one coming.
Lesson to be learned, never doubt a player that Chip Engelland wants.
Shooting splits; .505/.436/.842
He's shooting almost 44% on a team-high 5 3's per game. hitting 50% on 5 2pt FGs per game ( that is probably the most surprising tbh) and has improved his FT shooting.
He's also got the opportunity to learn how to play PG from Parker and Mills. I think he plays like a bigger Mills.
He remind me of Gary Neal
Aside from the shooting I like the fact that he can drive to the basket and finish through contact. That has made him lethal offensively
Better than I thought he’d be. Now if he can keep improving his D....
Him and Bertans. Like completely different players from three months ago.
I think his latest burst of improvement is due to Whites’s return, and Forbes not having to run the offense any more. His contract, like so many others, is also up in 2020. They won’t be able to keep all of the young guards. He may end up being traded, a cap casualty. His lowest ceiling is his defense. He’ll likely never be more than competent.
The guy’s got cajones and boy can he shoot. I was impressed by that baseline dunk he had a few nights ago
Spurs may not be able to afford him but his defensive limitations are irrelevant. He can be paired with any combination of Murray, White and in all likelihood Walker who can play 1-3 on defense and largely cover any limitations but honestly he’s better than Mills has ever been and Parker for many years.
A guy like Forbes with good at ude and who can light it up, get you back in a game or get you a big lead on a quite regular basis, which is his potential, is very valuable.
Back in the summer, a lot of the ST posters trashed the 2 year signing. Please show some integrity and admit to being short sited.
BF is an NBA player for a long time with his ability to shoot. He has limitations, but may be here for ten years like Mills as well. Patty isn't perfect either, but he has had his role as well.
The Spurs organization and players have shown me something this year. The "system" is pretty good, no matter how much certain people (former employees) try to trash it.
