Since they committed to White instead of Mills the turnaround has been rodiculous.
Granted things like zone play, demar sacrificing shots, aldridge playing better also played a part but its just hard to deny how much better derrick white is.

Exactly. Mills has played much better with this new role ( less minutes).
It should have never been White or Mills. Mills should be competing for minutes with Forbes. White fills a role that no other player on the roster can.
Mills finally had a good games as far as the turn around I would say everyone has gotten better Forbes, White, Bertans, Belli, Poodle, and team defense has greatly improved.
Mills has been playing well and has only slightly decreased his role. Cunningham was the odd man out. Also, poorly worded question.
It's almost like they play two different roles.

Easy question. The real question is how much better is White than Murray? Better but both have a place on the team. The really hard one is what to do with Walker? Beli might be the odd man out.

idk Walker skills and didn't know what White is was capable of until recently. White is better playmaker and shooter and way less raw than DJ, but DJ is a better defender. Walker will probably be on the bench even if he gets decent minutes next year. White will probably start b/c of his composure and playmaking. Walker will bring much needed athleticism to the bench. Beli's cutting and space creating is very useful, but replaceable.
^White's defense is elite already & he's way more polished offensively. Dijon is still a more explosive athlete though so who knows his potential. At this point, he's going to have to play off the ball predominantly.
He played 24 minutes tonight which is right on his season average and did pretty much the exact same thing he's been asked to do since he landed in SA (points off the bench)? How is this a 'new role'?

Spurs got themselves three young guards with a lot of potential.
Right now, considering last 5 games, White is the most versatile and valuable of the 3.
So let's just compare the other two, Walker and Murray.
Walker has not proven anything. He looks good on paper, NBA body, lots of spring in his legs, excellent shooting form. He's got a lot of potential to get better and he's younger than Murray.
Murray doesn't have an NBA body but has a lot of length. He's a Rajon Rondo type player that can't shoot. This is a problem because the defense only has to work half as hard to defend against him.
It'll be a tough decision between Walker and Murray.
Don't forget, Spurs also have Forbes as another young players.
I agree, Murray cannot play off ball. Nobody is going to defend him at the 3 point line. He's a Rajon Rondo type player and maybe in the best case, he's a mid-range guy like DeRozan.
The way Spurs are structured now, mid-range guys are facilitators in offense (bulk of the assists) and the scrubs are 3 point shooters. It's got a unique kind of efficiency in it. This is despite Gay being in full form in last games.
