Before they were laker fans they were bull fans when the bulls had Jordan.
Watching the highlights of yesterday's game and there's bandwagoners everywhere. I can't stand them. Heat fans 5 years ago, Laker fans 10 years ago. I wish they would all get knocked the out, tbh.

tbh today's NBA is made for bandwagoners. All offense no defense bc the casual fan doesn't want to see any defense. Turn the entire NBA into a 3 point contest. Only show amazing highlights of players making 3s and not the 40 misses that happened beforehand. Curry made the longest shot of hte season, 61 feet!! Let's just skip over the fact that he missed 12 outta 18 threes and the warriors lost. I know ESPN has been doing this for decades now, but before when a team had a ty offensive performance, there was always a chance for a fight and was about to go down. Now it seems like the NBA is harder to watch. Have you seen the Hawks play? Collins for 3! clank. Dedmon for 3! clank. Skinny white rookie for 3! clank. Bazemore for 3! clank. But Trey Young is making ridiculous 3's so it's "must see."
It's getting harder and harder to be a diehard fan and see such a ty product. I can see why there are so many goty Warrior bandwagoners.
Nazis and Russian Pop music are worse than bandwagoners. Also, most DC superhero films since the Dark Knight.
Agree with this. I really only follow the Spurs now and ignore the rest of this meme driven league.
Haven’t watched much of NBA at all the last three years, but saw a few this year and it’s insane how different it is. Even the spurs are jacking up shots early in the shot clock AND when they’re ahead by 6 with a little over a minute left. So weird.
but yeah bandwagon fans are worse than ever...... and they’re mostly just player fans
To be fair that describes Laker fans in LA too. When Jordan beat the Lakers in Game 5 of the 91 Finals at The Forum it was the only time I have ever seen the fans rush the floor when the other team won the le.

Anybody who complains about any fans -- who are the people who pay the money that makes the whole show possible -- is a seriously misguided fool.
My mom's family lives in Southern California about an hour outside of LA. I remember as a kid visiting them during the summertime during the 90's. I would always always see people decked out with bulls gear everywhere and hardly anyone wearing lakers gear. It was funny that even one time I saw lakers gear at a mall in LA selling for ridiculous cheap prices compared to the bulls gear.
Great post! When I see a middle aged geek and his goofy kid at the arena in a Curry shirt; I just want to slap the crap out of them!
I knew this was going to be in here.
Switching jerseys in the middle of game
I live now in LA, and I got booed in Staples jumbotron with my Ginobili jersey before. The wife was so embarrassed. Great time![]()
Well...what's stopping you?
The worst excuse i have read in a forum about bandwagoning was of course from an exposed Lakerfan with a Curry pic.
That dude actually tried to argue that the Warriors are not the San Francisco Warriors but the Golden State Warriors.Hence they represent the entire State of California. So it's okay to root for them.
Well they are also from the Bay/Gay area so it kinda explains the sexuality of their fanbase.
I don’t care about bandwagoners that much. Sports are supposed to be fun and not everyone lives and dies with a team. If a fan derives enjoyment but rooting for players over teams or multiple teams then what’s the big deal?
The only caveat to this is if you are trying to have a serious conversation; then it’s annoying. Where they feverishly fight for something they are bandwagoning.
Exactly. That sums it up for me.
I'll also add that a bandwagon fan isn't going to get the same enjoyment and satisfaction of winning as the longtime fan who experienced all the down years and close years and rebuilding years to finally see their team ring.
I'm always a Spurs fan first, but every year I like to root for teams that are surprises. I followed Brooklyn a lot this season because I thought the odd collection of relative unknowns-- Jarrett Allen, D'Angelo, Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, Rodion Kurucs-- playing well together was interesting. I followed Orlando closely because of Vucevic's relatively late emergence as a legitimate all star with very little talent around him. Sacramento was fun to watch with young players like Fox and Bagley, but also big contributions from the unheralded Serbians, Bogdanovic and Bjelica. I don't think any true fan of the game just sticks to watching and rooting for one team-- that usually just becomes homerism.

Spermfans complaining about bandwagoners. Classic!![]()
Nothing better than a die-hard fan especially after proving everybody wrong. And Spurs have done that year after year after year, albeit not a championship team right now but who expected anything after a bizarre start of the season. The beautiful game was the culmination of it all, aging stars dismissed by so-called experts and sending the banana boat packing and their bandwagon fans. That was disney movie written all-over it. I will root hard this coming playoffs and enjoy the ride, no expectations. But I think Spurs got a very good chance next year when everybody’s healthy and year under our belt.
Btw, millennials is imo explains this current bandwagon. I grew up watching Lakers vs Celtics, Bulls, Sixers, etc. I never really rooted for a team until I became a Spurs fan summer of 1988. Moving to 104 heat San Anton, forced to watch Cadillac Anderson and co, names all ending in son, 21-61 record. ! The biggest attraction The Alamo, and a river. Shamu, I think was introduced a year later. But finally, a freak of nature came like a prophesied savior. The guy blocked, took the ball, dribbled all the way to the other court and slammed. The rest was history.
nah, homers are the worst.
I'm sure those billionaire owners love the homer and diehard fans though
Don't forget to purchase a Gasol and/or Mills jersey on your way out of the arena, they are 10% off!
You got to admit. If you only root for the team that is winning you will always be happy plus you get to drive your friends crazy.
Socialists.
