    Very interesting. Many thanks.

So, the keys to Spurs success are: take efficient 3s, hit those 3s with good shooters, and don''t turn over the ball. Cool.

Good. The faster we can get rid of this horrible small ball 3 point chucking era the better. Maybe if enough teams succeed at more traditional offense again, this copycat league will go back a little.

I love a good three point game, but there’s nothing more boring than watching the Hawks and Magic go back and forth clanging threes for 15 straight possessions

Curry is what? 31 now? Superstars dictate how the game is played.

As this generation's 3point chuckers start to move past their prime the league will be a couple of dominant big men draft picks away from again entering a new era.And then every team will try to adjust to the new system. And so on,and so on...

The game evolves constantly, that's one thing we can all agree on.

    Good stuff.

This video is a bit old. I checked the numbers, and the Spurs are now only #6 on offense, with Denver #3. The Spurs are also now #1 in TOV% on offense, and their team 3PT% has dipped to 39.8%, though it still leads the league.

The one mistake I found is that the video says that the Spurs are 23rd in FT attempts, but that was probably a gross total (the Spurs are 24th in total FTA on the season). I believe that a better measure is FT/FGA (free throws attempted per field goal attempt), one of the four factors. The Spurs are 15th in that stat, while Denver is 27th.

One interesting thing about the "only take good shots" movement is that it should, in theory, result in a high TS%, which takes into account FTs and 3s. Right now Houston, the supposed pioneer of the movement (I have my doubts here, I just think they're the most blatant and outspoken), is 3rd at 0.578, with the Spurs in 6th at 0.573. It is truly a contrast of styles, with the Rockets starting with their "no midrange" philosophy and forcing their players to fit in, and the Spurs have adapted to the midrange-heavy talents of the roster with almost equal amounts of success.

Pop playing checkers while everyone else is playing chess. The only question: is this a chess tournament or a checkers tournament?

Wait... so the Spurs focus is on taking high percentage shots, taking care of the ball, and limiting opponents to 1 shot attempt? When did that start?
