with some of the football media? I mean I hear all this talk about how horrible the Texans are. I am watching NFL Live and they were discussing how horrible Houston is, yet I am hearing nobody talk about Dom Capers being fired.

I know he's on the hot seat, but that hot seat just seems to be lukewarm. They seriously need to can his ass. I'm amazed that after starting 0-6 they haven't canned his ass. He needs to go.

I knew that franchise was doomed for failure when they hired him as the first head coach. He sucked ass at Carolina and he sucks in Houston.

Dom Capers needs to go, and I'm not even a Texans fan, I just flat out don't like Capers.

He has a clause that Houston needs to pay him $25 million if he is fired.

Man that's ridiculous. Capers is making out like a bandit. Not only is he a horrible coach, he's got that ridiculous clause in his contract.

But that doesn't sound right, I mean 25 million? No way.

Do you blame him for signing it though? Can't say that I can. The team offered it to him or allowed for it to be in the contract. Not Capers fault.

Capers is not a bad coach. I think he's an excellent defensive coodinator.

I haven't really been following the Texans this year but I just looked at their schedule and they have lost to five very good football teams(@Buff, Pitt, @Cin, @Sea, Ind). The one game they probably should have won was against Tennessee.

That's a pretty tough schedule. I watched them play Seattle a couple of weeks ago and their offensive line is horrible. I am not sure why. Also, where the heck is Andre Johnson. Is he hurt or is he tanking?

Overall, I like the Texans squad. It's over for them this seaon. But during the offseason, they just probably need a couple of upgrades on the O-line. I don't think the defense is the problem. The D is going to give up points if Carr gets sacked 4 or 5 times a game. That's a breeding ground for turnovers.

Yeah, it's shocking when someone has to pay per the terms to which they agreed.

There's no benefit to firing Capers now. Nobody on the staff is going to do any better.

McNair's not prone to impulsive decisions. Following the season, he'll evaluate the team's performance and make whatever personnel changes up front he deems necessary.

It would surprise me if any of the existing coaching staff were back next year. It also would surprise me if Casserly comes back.

Well, they could end up with the #1 pick in a draft that includes Bush, Leinhart and VYoung next year. Time to blow it up and start over.

    That will happen anyway.

And what's the point of drafting Leinart or VYoung with the O-Line as ty as it is? Nobody can be a good QB when the pocket breaks down before the ball is snapped.

Big name, try to refresh some interest in the team, etc...

If they draft Young then they will not have a problem establishing a fan base in South Central Texas as well as making some serious inroads with the UT fanbase in Houston. I'd have to think that the prospect of drafting Young is giving the Texans' marketing peeps happy thoughts right about now.

If they draft Vince Young, they had better build a line that will protect him. Houston's O line has been a problem for a long time. It would be a shame to draft such a talented kid and have his career ended because he was beaten to death.

Maybe they should draft this guy:

Houston's problem in a nuts is overpaying to build a horrible defense
and neglecting the Offensive Line...a recipe for disaster

    Amen to that.

I still wouldn't give up on David Carr.
I think given the chance to do well with an Offensive Line that actually protects him and doesn't let him ing get sacked 20 times a game he would be a decent QB
I know i'd rather have him over AARP Vinny Interceptionverde and Brooks "No Balls Scared Like a little girl" Bollinger

I was just going to add that some people think Carr is stinking up the team when in fact, he's pretty damned good. He's just stuck like Aikman was years ago when his line fell apart and he spent more time with his head glued to the turf than playing. Remember the outcome of that debackle? Troy retired because he'd suffered so many concussions. I fear that poor David Carr may end up the same.

Laugh my ass off at your new QB names. Thanks for the chuckle.
