I have never seriously considered betting on sports seriously but have played some fun office pools and have places bets with friends for fun. But can one really make profit long term betting on NBA long term or any other sports for that matter?

Colin Cowherd has 2 years in a row of a winning percentage with his Blazing 5 tbh. Dude sucks at NBA takes but he makes good picks on Football. His only real screw up was betting against the saints seemingly every week lol.

The thing about sports betting is you have to parlay it into another bet to make some real money.

That's how you lose long-term, parlays are only for fun or if you don't have a bankroll..

Betting on totals is profitable for me, albeit a pretty low ROI.

The most profitable sports to bet on: College Football and Baseball.

    HH,
I'm on a roll where I'm adding one last parlay just to up the payout like 15% or so.
I'm picking very solid favorites for ML only as the final piece of the parlay.
This is now the 3rd time I've been f'd out of a nice payoff.
Over the last couple months on three occasions:

    1. Jazz at home against -I don't even remember but one of the scrub teams. Again, I took ML only.

    2. Flamers @ Clippers the other night when the Clips had a farking 12 point 3rd qrt lead and the Laker guards turn into ing Golden State Prime on treys. Should be noted Beverly was out, he would have at least messed that rookie up that went for some career high 30 and 10.

    3. Today Tampa Bay Lightening. In the event you don't follow puck much, doesn't matter. Just check the play by play. Cliffs, Tampa blowing them out 3-0 in the 1st period. Still 3-1 with only 12 game minutes left in the 3rd and final period. Columbus scores 3 ing goals in 6 minutes to upset them 4-3. That includes vs the leagues current best goalie on Tampa Bay. I mean wth?

Many consider NBA the most finicky sport to vote on. It honestly depends a lot on a person's betting style though. Yea, if you like surety that could be true enough. But if you're good at identifying too high of lines or lucrative upsets then it could be different.

I think a key is staying tuned in though. I lose more than I win and I think it has a lot to do with cold betting and not keeping consistent tabs. I would love to live permanently in a place like Vegas so that I don't over exert and take more solid or calculated bets.

I tend to pick games at about at a rate of 45-75 percent (regardless of MLs) 54 percent is the draw even rate on -110. But I often f it up on ambitious parlays and stuff like that b/c I'm looking for a real pay day upon going out of town and not some sort of modest gain.

I knew a guy that consistently bet only $50 on one four or five team parlay each day.

    $50 for 4 would be 11-1 at $550 payout / $550 Cashback.
    $50 for 5 would be 22-1 at $1100 payout / $1150 Cashback.

He surely wins enough of the time to do it consistently. I'm sure it's a fun pastime even if he's getting less than optimal results.
