    Two things;

One; Remember when Ray made an NBA from the 3pt line in the playoffs, 12/12 or something crazy like that and in the very next game he missed ALL of his three point shots? It's called regression to the mean, and it happened to Derrick White in game 4. He will bounce back, if he is the player we think he is.

And, two; They shot about 50% from the 3 point line, hopefully that won't happen again.

Having said that, If we make out threes, then all of sudden it's a different game. Take out Cunningham's three at garbage time and we shoot 4/16 or 25% for the game! I don't think that's going to happen again. We did not shoot well today in general, we missed long 2's, we missed free throws, 24/32. That's low.

So despite of Derrick not being Manu again, and them making half of their threes, it would have been a close game if we were 29/32 FT and 6/16 from the three point line. That's +11 points.

For example, in Game 3 they still shot 51% and we converter only 71% of our free throws 23/32, we won because we shot 39% from the 3 or 7/18. And that was thanks for Forbes 3/7 and Belinelli 2/3. In the last game Forbes was 2/4 and Belinelli 1/3.

I expect game 5 to be a close game or "a game of runs" that ultimately comes down to the very last minutes.

almost every role player on the spurs is a 3 point shooter... patty, bryn, marco, bertans. even rudy.

derozan/aldridge/white/poeltl can contribute without knocking down 3's. those other guys, or at least some combination of them, need to be making 3's

Per usual, fans overreact to a loss. These two team split the regular season series and are 2-2 going into game 5--that should tell you something.

I understand OP but I expect a repe ion. Nuggets are just lucky and will continue making crappy shots. Also they're left open by design. It's not just luck, Spurs are actually trading 2s for 3s by helping on Jokic and being unable to recover.

It's the perimeter defense that's the ultimate problem. It has been the case all year. Outside of Derrick White there is nobody that is a good defender on the perimeter.

If you don't score the defense can't get set and the other team can go run in transition. Making shots helps

So when you don't make shots, it's harder to win. What a revolutionary hypothesis.

Spurs lost the game due to perimeter defense. The nuggets shot 48 percent from 3 point range. If they shot their normal season average of 35 percent then the Spurs win the game. Like I said before Spurs need to build a team that has multiple perimeter defenders. I think White,Murray,Walker will all be good to great defenders at the guard positions. Spurs during this off-season should be looking for an SF that can be a good defensive player.

We all know that. But you can't make a trade in the Playoffs. That's an offseason issue

We have only 1 3pt shooter in our starting lineup. Our 3pt shooting all season long came from the bench. Now the bench is struggling.

so the question is: do we continue to play the bench solid minutes and hope they will recover, or do we play our starters more minutes as many posters suggest here and then bet on layups and 2pt fade-aways

I'm sure they will, but so will the rest of the NBA. A SF that can defend is a premium type of player that all NBA teams covet.

What does Denver do when they don't go 30-60 from three (on the road, no less)?

Is that an NBA record for two road playoff games?

I think the Spurs would be better of letting Aldridge guard Jokic 1 on 1, or even switching Poetl for spells. I don't think Jokic can beat Aldridge time and time again, at least not without exhausting himself prematurely. Make the Denver role players hit contested shots.

The fact that they didn't win the game by 30 is pretty promising.
