timvp or anyone: I am assuming there is going to be some sort of thread (meaningful) with an off season write up?

Is someone working on that? Anyone want to volunteer if not? Everything from the draft and what needs there are, to current player decisions and free agency/trades.

Maybe with a focus on next season, but also some notes about the upcoming 3-5 years in mind?

I'd like our resident expert SpursforSix's take on this topic tbh. Provided he isn't too busy being our Track and Field, Blues, and Comedic expert.

So taking this as a no ? Maybe its just too soon and nobody cares even though the draft is in about 50 days.

Add a healthy Murray, replace Q and Dante with more rooks who won't play or washed up vets who can't contribute, continue doubling down on the loser club (LMA,DD, Gay, Mills), and try again.

    That's about it.

I could do one but there'd be a lot of player/PATFO bashing ...

marco at 6 mil and bertans at 7 mil are the realistic trade pieces given they have expiring deals.

I can see Forbes being moved too.

he's to cheap to bother moving. the purpose of trading expiring deals (other than pure cash dumps) is to get an average/above average player from a team that intends to rebuild. those players are typically paid quite well... so a 3 mil expiring deal isn't really helping.

I”m not saying SA will want to move him or should; but I can see a scenario where a team would ask for him and pick 19 if SA wanted to move up and get the SF/PF they want in the draft.

There might be teams that value Forbes the player (especially on that type of deal) and it may be the cost of doing business.

Again, don’t think there is value for SA in trading a player like Forbes; it should be Beli or Mills first, but I can see a scenario where they may have to do it to get what they want.

That would be silly. Marco will be traded unless PATFO is extremely re ed. If anything, just to open space in that wing area.

They'll probably give Bertans another chance.

Trading Beli and others is a different proposition. Agreed SA will need a trade to open up space. That seems very likely if they are serious about getting Murray/Lonnie minutes.

But SA needs that SF badly; if they love someone in this draft and need to move up? 19 + 29 alone may not be enough. We will see.

I don’t think Forbes will be prioritized in terms of a trade (I said it will be Beli, then Mills, then Forbes) but you can see why other teams would rather have Forbes than Beli/Mills and SA seemingly has to trade to open up minutes. If they need to move up in the draft? That’s an entirely different ballgame that might require them parting with someone they would prefer not to.

Likely, they'll attempt to sign gay for a year and they should but its possible they'll be forced to sign him into two years..

Rudy is still a decent role player off the bench tbh.

they can win 50 next year, but they seriously need to fix that Belli-Mills-Forbes Rotation

Spurs had Rudy this year and still had a big SF problem.

there are a lot of good 3-and-D SFs who are free agents this offseason. Marcus Morris, Demarre Carroll, Ariza, Danny Green, Iman Shumpert, Bojan Bogdanovic, Mbah Moute, Jeff Green, Stanley Johnson, etc., etc.

Spurs should definitely be able to sign one, the question is who will be available for 9.1 million or less?

Bojan, Danny Green would be too expensive.
    Jeff Green is a re
Mbah Moute wont see a minute in a pop lineup

    Ariza wont accept less money.

I know the list looks long, buts it really not if you start filtering possibilities.

Maybe Carroll? His 3PT shot has fallen off and he was way overpaid, but maybe the market will adjust for him?

This is what I'm really wondering about. How much money we could actually have for said player?
