Mnuchin Refusal to Hand Over Trump Tax Returns Called 'Blatant Affront to Rule of Law'

    Following Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin's
formal refusal to hand over six years of President Donald Trump's tax returns,

progressive groups late Monday urged House Democrats to stop waiting for the administration to comply with the law and immediately subpoena the do ents—and

hold Mnuchin in contempt of Congress if necessary.

House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.)

"has no choice but to subpoena Trump's personal and business tax returns and,

    if the stonewalling continues,

hold Secretary Mnuchin in contempt of Congress for illegally shielding the returns," the groups said.

"The American people can and will hold Donald Trump and the corrupt officials in his administration accountable

—no one, not even the president, is above the law," the statement concluded.

Why in the world would Trump release his taxes to demo s???

There is no law that states he must release them. So why in the would he?

Demore s were trying to destroy Trump on a fake Russi hoax for 1 year and half. Any typo or missing comma in. His taxes would trigger democraps for another 2 years

So why in the would he release them?

This is so stupid and demodummies pursuing this is the dumbest political move I have seen

After the huge Repug scandal, yes it's always the Repugs, of the 1920s, Teapot Dome, a new law gave Congress the power to obtain anybody's tax returns.

“It is consistent with what I reported when I got Trump’s 2005 form 1040 tax return two years ago and what I reported back in the 90s when he arranged to shed a billion dollars of debt.”

“These losses that The New York Times shows are

way beyond the losses he could take from real estate.

These show Donald Trump is not the modern Midas who turns everything to gold.

He is the wizard and Toto, in the form of

The New York Times, has pulled back the curtain and revealed the con man,” he continued.

“According to The New York Times, and this is the killer for tomorrow’s news, Trump paid no — is everybody listening now — no federal income taxes for eight of the 10 years,” Matthews noted.

“Here’s this character who pays no taxes eight out of ten years.

That’s what a lot of people suspected was the reason he kept this secret.”

“And one of the reasons we should all be concerned about that is

someone in search for money to maintain the appearance that they’re wealthy is likely to commit crimes

and be open to various actions and one of the things has been looked at — we don’t have a definitive answer —

Donald Trump laundering money for Russians, Saudis, Emiratis and others through real estate deal,

some of which I have written about, that

make no sense as a business deal,

but absolutely make sense as money laundering and pay off operations,”

    Trump: ‘What’s the deal?’

This 1991 suppressed Trump do entary tried to expose the president as a business fraud almost 30 years ago

in 1988, business mogul Leonard Stern commissioned a television do entary to be made about Donald Trump, but the film was never aired because Trump managed to prevent its circulation.

“He did everything he could to suppress this do entary,”

“And back in the day when we made the film, there were only a handful of networks.

You had a few independent en ies, but everything was controlled by big corporations, the three networks.

And Donald was threatening lawsuits and stuff and they just didn’t need to take that on, even if the lawsuit would have no merit in the end.”

Trump: What’s the Deal? chronicles the real-estate developer and presidential hopeful’s rise to power, and

entertains like a real-life Wolf of Wall Street film,

    detailing Trump’s economic pursuits.

His self-described “addiction” to acquiring cash and real estate drove him to build developments in Manhattan, Atlantic City, Palm Beach, and Los Angeles.

He skirted the law on multiple occasions throughout his career —

    underpaying his workers,

    associating with mob bosses,

    committing union fraud,

    harassing tenants, and

    ignoring environmental regulations

    — but managed to evade legal retribution.

“This is entirely consistent with what I’ve been reporting on Donald for 30 years,” said Johnston.

    “It’s all a fraud.

And Ross Buettner and Susanne Craig … are journalistic Totos who have pulled back the curtain and revealed that

the Wizard is actually a con artist.”

“Donald has always claimed that he has these tremendous business deals,” said Johnston.

“What this shows is, it’s nonsense, it’s just made up by Donald.

    He creates his own reality.

And this shows that his claim of being the modern Midas, that everything he touches turns to gold, no, it turns to dross.”

“What he does say that’s true is he had a lot of cash flow,” Johnston added.

“When he created his only publicly traded company,

and ran it at least nominally for nine years,

    the investors were wiped out,

the bondholders only collected pennies on the dollar, but

Donald got $82 million out of it.

    That’s what he does.

He reaches in like a vulture,

    he sucks something dry, and

    he leaves the vendors unpaid,

    sometimes the workers unpaid.

    Ruins other people’s businesses.

And yet is held out in the press as this great business genius.”

IIRC, Trash paid himself $200M for destroying his casino businesses
