    Louis King

    School: Oregon
    Position: SF
    Age: 20
    Height: 6-foot-8
    Weight: 195.2
    Wingspan: 7-foot-0.25
    Draft Range: 25 to 45
    Combine Results? Yes

Why: Tall, long, skilled small forward. Smooth three-point stroke with a high release point. Hit 38.6% from three-point land on 9.9 attempts per 100 possessions and also hit 78.5% of his freebies. Fluid athlete with good ball-handling skills for his size. Has the ability to create his own shots. Quick enough to defend on the perimeter. Could add more weight to allow him defend bigs.

Why Not: Tiny hands take away some of the usefulness of his impressive length. While fluid, not explosive. Struggles to score in traffic, doesn't hold his ground well. Not a notable rebounder or shot blocker despite length. Defensive fundamentals lacking. To thrive on the perimeter, needs to improve his dribble and court vision. Outside of three-point shooting, doesn't have many easily transferable attributes.

Spurs Fit: Austin for a season. If that goes well and he's still a strong three-point shooter, could quickly slide into a role.

Spurs Comparison - Ceiling: Richard Jefferson

Spurs Comparison - Floor: DerMarr Johnson

Supposedly off court concerns related to maturity and at ude.

Unless it's really bad, it's weird that someone with his physical profile and skillset is projected as a late 1st - early 2nd.

Still, I'd prefer him to someone like Roby because of his superior 3-point shooting.

If he is there at 29, I don't think anyone else available will have a higher ceiling. I think he will put on good weight and will play at 230-235lbs. Just not sure about at ude/work ethic based on reports here and there, but haven't seen any real proof or specific instances that are proof of that being an issue.

In recent years, have there been players who were talented yet had character/at ude issues coming out of college that turned out to be decent players? Ability and character wise

I have been waiting for a write up on him for awhile. Not sure why he seems to be valued so low. I know he had a few injuries early in the year but he came back to lead his team in scoring and rebounding to the sweet 16.
He is athletic, can shoot the 3, has already gained weight so he is closer to nba ready than others. The only knock I can find is he does not WOW you. Had no explosive 30-35 pt games. Considered uninsterested in playing defense and with his height and athleticism that is a problem.
I am in the lone boat find 2 legit small/combo forwards in this draft. I say take KZ okpala and/or him and lookout in 3 years.

Really liked what I saw from him, especially his size and 3pt stroke. Still seems like a second round pick so those character issues may be what's holding him back. Would love him or Jordan Nwara at 49. Still prefer Roby at 29 or Okpala if he falls there but some solid wings available.
