That dude was a throw back ACTUAL point guard. Cool for him. I actually wondered when watching SL if anyone still gave a about a guy actually running the point. Super glad the guy is getting a shot.

That said, I'm glad it's not the Spurs giving him that two-way deal. His ceiling is a valuable G Leaguer who will help you get a better look at your prospects, IMO.

Eh, don't disagree too much as the ball did get stuck in his hands a lot for someone who is supposed to be a distributor ... but his high assist-to-turnover ratio alone should help a G League team be more competent, IMO.

(That he has averaged 15 PPG the last few years in the G League tells you just how low that level of play is, tbh. He could hardly get his shot off at the summer league level.)

Good for him. Summer league Spurs were fortunate to have the level of point guard play they got from all unsigned dudes. Next summer I'm hoping Weatherspoon can handle most of those duties.
