with this season being the 10th anniversary of dejuan blairs nba debut i will create threads based on his milestones achieved with the spurs..........next thread will be posted on january 13 the anniversary of his first 30/20 gameIn his first NBA game, Blair posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in 23 minutes against the New Orleans Hornets on October 28, thus becoming just the third Spurs rookie, along with David Robinson and Tim Duncan, to record a double-double in his debut with the team
Blair, before his knees deteriorated and he found Whataburger, was a beast, tbh.
So was the NBA season length and frequency which destroyed what he had left in his knees or was it the weight he put on?
damn it's been a decade already? !
Not having ACLs will catch up sooner than later.
wish he couldve stuck around and grabbed that 2014 ring. I GOT LOVE FOR D BLAIR!!!!
Blair used to play really well, and then just go mentally AWOL for stretches. When he was right, he was good.
He also had a 20-20 game as a rookie, and they took away a rebound and screwed him out of it.
Did he ever pay back that jewelry store that was suing him?
Damn thats awful. He is out of tune even with auto tune turned on.
Miss Blair he was fun to watch with that Spurs team his rookie year. He would be awful with this team today though lol
huh? he has a 28 rebound 21 rebound game in the books as a rookie, against okc
Your devotion is admirable
You're right - that's what the record shows. I was at that game. He had the 20-20, and someone was saying that it was the first 20-20 game by a rookie since Tim Duncan did it. Then it was gone from the board. I remember that, because some of the OKC people around us were laughing at us about it. I guess they cleared up the official record after the game.
Either way, he was a beast on the boards his rookie season. But he went downhill pretty fast. He had a few exceptional rebounding games after that, but he was never the force he was that first season.
LOL at you going Snopes on it though.![]()
I remember when he owned thiago. That was awesome
