Every other matchup could be considered close. Yes, as good as Duncan is, Jermaine O'Neal is good enough to keep it close. However San Antonio has noone to disrupt Artest, while at the same time Artest can take your 2nd bes player, Manu, completely out of the game.
It's that matchup that is gonna win Indiana the 2006 NBA Championship.

If the pacers play Duncan straight up with Oneal, he'll be in foul trouble every game, all series long. You think ur team can overcome that with artest? nah not happening.
And when(not if) they double team Duncan, we all kno how his teammates will respond.
But when it comes to the Pacers, i dont see us doing any doubling teams at all.l

We've got Sarunas "USA Killa" Jasikevicius and the #1 clutch shooter on the Spurs 2002 championship team Stephen Jackson to do our clutch shooting. Also Artest is a very clutch shooter. O'Neal has clutch issues tho, no denying that.
I'm pulling for another all-ABA matchup in the Finals this year.
Haha, I actually agree that Artest is as good at anyone at giving Manu a tough time of it, but over a seven game series he's going to be damn hard pressed guarding Manu every night and being gaurded by Bruce. I just don't see him not getting worn down or, even worse for Pacers' fans, frustrated dealing with that duo night after night. At the other positions, Manu is more than capable of guarding Jackson. Edge goes to Duncan over O'neal, and Parker over Tinsley. Finley and Barry are substancially better than any two of Jasikevicius, Granger, and Jones off the bench, and in terms of clutch, you can't beat NVE or Rob. I actually could see your argument for one game, but over a series, experience, chemistry, wear and tear, and advantages at a majority of positions have to make the Spurs a favorite over the Pacers. Don't talk trash till you've got a ring to back it up, or at least make it to the finals. And as for boring, you may not have seen the WCF last year, but the Spurs can run with the best of 'em... you probably missed that series though, 'cause the Pacers were already on vacation by then.
