There's at the very least a difference in optics between writing a best selling memoir and cashing in on tax policy your father-in-law enacted, while you're both in office.
It's also worth pointing out that while Obama made money on investments during his presidency, those investments were in a blind trust he had no control over.
That's not true of Trump or Kushner.
