i'd put him around 9, and I'd put him way higher if he has improved his shooting and his penetration even further. I won't put him over nash for a long time though.
This thread shouldnt even be started. Absolutely redundant. Of course he is.
theres a search?
where
If he can keep playing like he has in these first two couple games, you're absolutely right. At the end of last year, I would have said borderline top-10, and that he needed a better J and better court vision and decision making to rise from there.
Of course, at his age, he should keep improving for at least the next couple of years before he reaches his peak -- and point guards often make a big leap even after that.
Tonight he's number 1 !!!
He is a 7-10 PG right now. And will be 3-5 PG once he fixes his jumper.
...and how many people have you heard of really do it. ...sigh...
Maybe he should try what Bird did when he was young. Shoot and play in the dark to feel the court better. But that's touching some sort of Martial Art mind over matter thing I bet. Or I'm just 2 shots into Friday night.
He has the more championship rings than any other starting PG currently in the league.....so he clearly must be doing something right.
Nobody is talking about team or historical success. Talking about the individual most talented PG.
And yes, TP is doing quite well for himself.
I think it's reasonable to believe he's around ten or so. He's at least in the top half and possibly at the bottom of the top third. Consistency is still a huge issue with him. And he doesn't always look comfortable running the offense. But he's still getting better, and if he can keep improving gradually, he'll undoubtedly be in the top ten.
Also most people don't take into account that he has been a Pro in Europe too, and is freaking young. He started even younger, and shows more and more flashes of something awesome to come. How many kids can you name came to a winning NBA team, ran the PG, won 2 rings and would be graduating college at the same time in America.
My point was intended for those who DON'T think he's a top 10 PG. He's 23 and is the starting PG for a TOP 5 team in the NBA and he has 2 championship rings in which he played a significant role in getting. So for those who still don't want to give him credit where credit is due, I was just pointing out that those facts alone should warrant putting him in the Top 10.
True dat... trueeeeeee dat...
Take Marbury, Bibby, Cassell, and Francis off that list.
Tony is grrrrrrrrrrreat! hahaha
you're clueless. Point guard is a lot more than just offense. Marbury plays absolutely no defense and will be shipped out of NY very soon. Ball Hog Areanas never gets others involved. Stevie Francis give me a break. Cassell can't stop me. Iverson is not a PT guard, he's a 2 playing PT because they have no one else.
Only PT guards who would be better on the spurs would be Kidd, Davis, and maybe Billups.
