Timberwolves acquire F Dupree from Pistons
October 31, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Looking for more size in their frontcourt, the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday acquired forward Ronald Dupree from the Detroit Pistons for a future second-round draft pick.
The 6-7 Dupree played in 47 games for the Pistons last season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.0 points. He averaged 6.2 points as a rookie with Chicago in 2003.
"Ronald is a solid defensive player and we wanted to get another big defender at the small forward position," Timberwolves president of basketball operations Kevin McHale said.

Didn't I read that the Spurs were interested in him as the next "Bruce the Noose", and were waiting to see if the Pistons waived him? Seems a future 2nd round pick would have been worth it. Or is this an issue of Holt and the luxury tax?

Who would want our future 2nd round pick unless we drafted it for them? Haha.
Thanks. I haven't been around for awhile.

Trading Spurs' 2nd round picks = Presti handcuffs
Not if he's the young SF who replaces a 34 yr old in the next couple of years.
