It's true, but still a misstep by Trump since many of his re base will take it literally and hassle Asian-Americans for something they have no connection to. I don't even blame the Chinese people, they're largely oppressed peons who don't know any better, though a few of them need to lay off the bats and pangolins, but from what I know, it's mostly the elite who eat that. The Chinese government deserves every ounce of the world's scorn after this, but nothing will happen. It'll probably be America's fault somehow.
I was actually okay with Trump doing it in theory. This was the day after China tried to blame the US as the source of the virus, claiming the US Army unleashed it there doing a training exercise, so this was Trump's way of firing back. But he has to consider who some of his cons uents are. They take his word as gospel, like that couple who overdosed on chloroquine.
The Trump re base are the ones that would do such things if they were to be done. And they're gonna do their lawless sh** one way or another. Blaming Trump for calling it is nonsense.
That would imply he has the capacity to think before he speaks, which is a non-starter.
