Paul Konerko is set to become a free agent and the Angels are prepared to pounce. Konerko's agent Craig Landis told the Orange County Register that the Angels have expressed an interest in his client. "Paul is certainly interested in hearing what the Angels have to say," Landis told the paper. The White Sox have exclusive negotiating rights with Konerko through Thursday.

It is very unlikely that the Sox will get any kind of a deal done with Konerko before the Thursday deadline because he seems intent on testing the market. The Angels are also working on a deal to land Manny Ramirez that is rumored to include Darin Erstad, which would apparently free up first base for Konerko.

Yeah they have Erstad but they might try to put him in a trade to get Manny which leaves open the 1B spot for Konerko.
I think Manny wants to go to Cleveland.
I think Konerko might be a little overrated.
But Arte Moreno likes to pour $$$ into the Los Angeles Santa Ana Angels Newport Beach of Anaheim Orange County Fullerton.
