Time for some lottery action, boys and girls!
The 2020 draft lottery is at 7:30 PM CT. You can watch it on ESPN.
The Spurs will either end up with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th pick depending on how the lottery balls bounce. There's a ~78% chance that the Spurs will pick 11th. There's a 9.4% chance that the Spurs move up into the top four. San Antonio's chances of getting the top overall pick is 2%.
Going the other way, the Spurs have a 12.6% chance of getting the 12th pick. Ending up with the 13th or 14th pick is unlikely (less than 0.5% chance combined).
The Spurs will be represented at the draft by Peter J. Holt. His old man had some luck once upon a time...

This draft is considered weak at the top. There is no obvious No. 1 overall pick. In fact, since the No. 1 pick will be locked into a contract that will pay ~$47 million over four years, it's not certain that the team that wins the lottery will be thrilled.
The Warriors, Cavaliers and Timberwolves all have a 14% chance of getting the No. 1 overall pick.
Should be fun.
How about this scenario for tonight.
The Spurs get into the top 4 then the Lakers go down 0-2. That's a nice evening.

The Spurs will never get involved in that circus. If we jump into the top 4, and you see them select him on draft night, you can be sure that it’s one of those trade the draftee not the pick trades to move down.
