Damn this is a tough one. I like Bills Fish sandwiches but I got
to go with Sea Island for the kabobs.

I haven't been to Sea Island in years, but we call in a To-Go from Barnacle Bill's fairly often and I like it.

    Barnacle Bills or Sea Island
I like them both for different reasons. I like Barnacle Bill's because their fried fish is very good for fast food. And that toast is great. But the main reason is that I get to take my Bill Miller tea bucket and fill it for 50 cents! Iced tea is my favorite drink, and nobody's (except Mom's) beats Bill Miller's/Barnacle Bill's. And you can refill it for free when you get ready to leave.

But...it's really hard to beat that Lemon Pepper Fish at Sea Island; and the portions are huge. And I love the hushpuppies, too. They have decent iced tea, but unless you remember to ask for a to-go cup, you can't take it with you.

But my favorite seafood place in San Antonio is Joe's Crabshack. The Tuesday lunch special (shrimp) is out of this world. Landry's is decent, too (it's really the same company).

Another favorite old standby is Red Lobster. I get the Sailor's Platter every time. I always say I'm going to try something different, but I never do. I don't think anyone's scampi is better than theirs (not even what I make).

    bills has good shrimp poorboys
I've never had a shrimp po'boy at Barnacle Bill's. But it would have to go a ways to be better than Landry's.

Never been to BB. When I first saw Sea Island I always thought it was a Red Lobster type restaurant. It was weird then when I went inside.

WHAT money issue? What I get at Sea Island (the Lemon Pepper Fish lunch deal) costs me about $10 with iced tea. My meal at Barnacle Bills costs me about $9 with iced tea. At Red Lobster, it runs about $10; the only difference is, I have to tip there. I don't see that much difference, monetarily. I guess it just depends on what you eat and how much.

Barnicle Bills because of the slice of bread they give you. But my favorite is Pappadeux. Man they have some good catfish and fries and they serve you plenty. That bread is also good that they give you.

I love BB's fish, I can eat it with nothing on it which I think is a good measure of the taste of fish. I do sometimes eat it with tartar, or with lemon but it's not necessary.

I also love the shrimp gumbo....

I had a very bad experience at Papadeux. I will never eat there again. And I have not eaten at Long John Silver's since 1974.
