Tre is a true point guard who likes to share the ball, and who doesn't leave anything on defense. I only hope he can shoot the ball better. I can't help but see Avery on him, no offense to Tre
Nice article talking about how Tre's teammates (particularly Jakob and Lonnie) like practicing with him.
"True point guard" gets mentioned several times.

Yeah you can tell he is a pure PG as soon as he comes in he running point and setting people up. But he is definitely going to have to work on his outside shooting to include the 3 ball if he wants to stay in the NBA.
I can see Tre/White/Vassell/Keldon/Poetl line-ups in our future.
I’d like to see it.....defense!!!
That lineup, if played heavily, might hold a team under 100 pts.
Ya that defensive lineup they could struggle to score 100. In today's NBA ... Lol
Walkers quote.. "He's a true point guard at heart. He's not looking to score," Walker said. "He's looking for others. He's playing the right way."
Cant wait to see Trey Jones get some burn
Not scoring puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the team, and will not make his defender honest. It’s worst in today’s high scoring NBA.
I'm pretty big on Jones. He was a great pick. I don't think he's more than a spot starter, but he should have a very solid career and boost this team.
I would wait until he plays real mins in a NBA game before getting excited.
He’ll have a solid career as a backup on some good teams. He’s a coaches wet dream, plays great defense and he’s a great, great teammate. Hope he gets a chance with the Spurs.
He was a DPOY and 1st team college player. He‘ll be a solid NBA rotation player at least. His ceiling depends on his ability to score/shoot the ball. Hopefully Chip can develop him
His brother already is a good NBA backup and Tre is considered by some to be better.
He reminds me of Avery except he is not left handed.
Thanks Bill!! Happy New Year to you!!
Barring WWIII I think it will be an improvement.![]()
Exactly what I said. I’m sure we had Chip then, and Tre has better form.
chip was brought in the summer of 2003. Couple years post Avery.
Always thought his brother played solid, winning basketball.
Happy New Year my friend!! Have a great 2021!![]()
Geez, look at this insanely high IQ play by Tre
Tre Stones seems like a good nickname![]()
I agree he’s a very smart bball player and a “true point guard” who will set up his teammates perfectly. But the two pointblank shots I’’ve seen him tried, coming from a pnr, klanked. I’m sure Chip can make him a better shooter with already a good form, and there’s a dunk of him between the legs, so he is athletic enough. Yet he’s not as fast compared to Tony (I know it’s not fair but they have the same height), nor any if our youngsters. So he’s more a halfcourt offense general.

If anyone can, its Chip imo.
