    .To get kids out of cages you need to let them out of the cages. If the US can't keep detainees humanely it should release them.

    The usual way it happens is they're released in a large city, and any relatives, sponsors, churches and charity orgs are contacted beforehand so there's someone to catch them on the other end.

    Most of these kids are 15-17 years old. Obviously, children of a more tender age wouldn't ve able to deal.

    There are probably good legal reasons detainees aged 15-17 couldn't be released to sponsors and social welfare orgs on an emergency basis, on recognizance, with electronic tracking -- but the welfare of the kids should come before strict adherence to the same laws that have failed to insure their safety.
