I like it too, I'm surprised the player's union isn't ing up a storm though.

Either the union went along with this or Congress was going to legislate something even harsher.

yeah about time, they are heavy on drugs in every other sport for example in soccer Manchester Uniteds player Rio Ferdinand got 8 months for MISSING a drugs test, they don't even know if he even took anything, his excuse was he forgot about it cause he was moving house that day.

Maybe the other sports will follow suit on their own.

the players union didnt really have a choice in whether or not they would say yes. the public reaction to them voting it down would be too much for even them to handle, and it keeps congress off their backs from tougher sanctions on stuff other than steroids.

You got that right! This policy was proposed by Bud Selig way back in APRIL (or maybe May...) I agreed with this policy from the START! And I'm convinced drug use in sports does NOT start in the professional level. I think it starts in HIGH SCHOOL (from what I've heard, that one school where that one dude who did steroids and committed suicide...that school hasn't done a thing about the steroid abuse problem going on there).

By the way, is there jailtime for possession of steroids? If not, I think their should be.

i think you should give them 3 strikes, it's baseball after all
Actually, the new policy IS a "Three Strikes and You're Out" policy! As you said, it's Baseball, after all, and that's why the MLB now has the "Three Strikes and You're Out FOREVER" policy!
