Haven't had the chance, but my taste in cars range from 1987-1995 anyways, so I probably wouldn't buy new even if I had the cash.

1968 at age 16 (actually got it when I was 15, but was not allowed to drive it on the road until I was 16). It was a '61 Ford Falcon. My friends and I called it "Homer the Helicopter" (because of the noise it made when you accelerated). I LOVED that car. Sure had a lot of fun in it.
Oh, I misread the question. That was my first car period.
My first NEW car was a 1972 Chevy Vega hatchback. I think I paid $1800 for it NEW in 1973. Had a lot of fun in that car, too.
