spurs have struggled with back to back games partically when david robinson was playing (his back) and it still has carried over after he retired.
and the 2 losses also are on saturday. NO MORE SATURDAY GAMES!
... I noticed that both teams that beat the Spurs didn't play particularly well around those games.
Dallas lost to Utah before the win, and then lost to Philly, while Washington lost to Cleveland and Minnesota afterwards.
It's common for teams to concentrate all their energy on the defending champs for statement games, spend far too much time and energy on one single game, and ignore the other games.
Folks, the Spurs are marked.

Arenas shot 75%. When is that likely to happen again?
Duncan shot 17%. When is that likely to happen again?
When is the conjunction of the two likely to happen again?
Last year they did awesome on back-to-backs
I think more telling is that the Spurs were on the road and they were tied with their opponents (Dallas and Washington) with 3 or 4 min. remaining in the 3rd period, then they collapsed on the 2nd nights of b2b blowout wins.
In Wash the score was tied 74-74 with 4:03 remaining in the 3rd & Wash took the lead for good with 3:03 left.
In Dallas the score was tied 62-62 with 3:16 remaining in the 3rd & Dallas took the lead for good with 2:54 left.
they are marked because they are champs
Well, I'm not particularly worried about the two losses YET.
After all, both were the second of back-to-back nights, and one was at the beginning of the road trip, and the other was the end of that same road trip.
On another note, we have YET to beat the Mavs since our former point guard took over as head coach for that team, and that might be reason to worry if we take on the Mavs in the playoffs.
the fact is no other team is going to get the games that the Spurs get. That's the price of being the defending champs...every team gives you their A game.
Oh no guys, I am not worried about the loses, it's just that people are ramping up for the Spurs right now, and it's actually nice to see.
