hehehe...I was out at trailer city at Toyota last week waiting to go down to the plant and one of the Japanese engineers was working on one and was hung up...I asked him what he was doing...he told me the rules and I started lookin at it with him and was like...thats a 2...thats a 5...theres 4,6,7...theres a 6, that has to be 8 etc....LOL...I don't think he liked it.
yeah, the 1-star and 2-star puzzles almost solve themselves...![]()
I am completely addicted. I play it almost every day. I print them off the net and play the ones in the newspaper too. Hi, my name is 2Blonde and I'm a sodukuholic....![]()

uhhhh! I can't stop! I would be a lot faster if I wasn't having to answer the phone while I did them...
I got an offer to put this in our newspaper for no cost.
When I passed the sample one around the office, everybody loved it, so I think it means it's going in.
I'm approaching sub-6 minute time. YES, work is definitely a distraction.
Anyone care to discuss technique?
I scan across, three rows per scan, and then scan vertical, three rows at a time.
Actually, it's a little more complicated than that.
Describing it literally is tough.
On the harder puzzles (but sometimes the easy ones too) I do a circular scan looking to fill in as many of the same number as I can. After that I start looking for single and two-opening lines/squares.
Hmm, hmm, hmm
boss: Taco are you finished with that report?
Taco: uh...err...it's I'm almost done......uhh give me a miniute....
Damn you CosmicCowboy![]()

I do similar to Travis...I start by scanning a row of 9 space blocks looking for any number that is in 2 of 3 blocks and then cross scan to try to figure out which exact space it should go in...I then see if the number I just added helps to do the same thing in the row perpendicular to the one I just filled in. I will run through all the numbers and then try to complete any rows that only have 2-3 spaces remaining. The killer is when you narrow it down and the same 3-4 numbers are missing all over the board and you can't find any clues to get the first one to "break" the gridlock...
Here is an online on also...

It's hard to explain how I do it, but it sounds similar to how CC explained it.
