South Texas (where the grass is greener)

    by Mookie

The Texas Longhorns escaped Monday night due to the tiest free-throw shooting display of the day by West Virgina. Daniel Gibson was highly average, but was correct from beyond the arch, Gibson had 20 and almost as many turnovers. Two star returning fowards Jr. P.J. Tucker and Sr. Brad Buckman, from Austin TX, brought the required ruckus down the stretch.
Lamarcus Aldridge wasn't like Vince Young, who is like Bozo, clowning for a living but had his third double-double of the season, through the 3, he is averaging 15.7 ppg 11.7 rpg 3.0 bpg and shooting a vulgar .724 from the field. Tucker has been the lead regulator to begin the season, shooting a obscene .647, leading the Horns in scoring at 19.8 and grabbing 8.0 rpg. In his fourth year Brad Buckman is playing un-Bod eresque contributing 12.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 1.7 bpg while shooting a pornographic .609
Texas faces Iowa in the Guardian Classic Finals tonight at 9 pm cst, this frontline is the reason you!, the cable having college basketball fan should watch and the reason Texas will bring a Larcenous Heart to the 06 Final Four.

^ We were damn lucky to win that game, all West Virginia had to do was make some FT's down the stretch and they would have won with room to spare. However, our frontcourt is going to be DOMINATING this season, PJ, Aldridge and Buckman form what might be the best frontcourt in the country and their play will go a long ways towards deciding how far UT can advance in March. I was pleased by Gibson's point production, but 9 TO's vs. only 1 assist for the game? Come on, he's gotta do better than that, and the 24 total TO's for the game by Texas was horrible, can't let that continue to happen. Get the passing game working on offense, protect the ball better, and for God's sake somebody call out "SCREEN/PICK!!!" on defense, WVU had way too many uncontested shots in that game. We play that way tonight against Iowa and we're ing toast. We also need some of those bench guys like Mike Williams, Abrams, Lewis, Mason and Paulino to play with more consistency and to contribute more. Good win, but many areas to address.

Every single member of Texas's starting lineup must have a Larcenous Heart to survive the game tonight.

    Every member.

Lamarcus' added muthle has definitely made a noticable impact on his game. Last year he struggled on the close up rebounds and close putbacks. This year, from what I have seen, he is easily getting where he wants and what he wants, when he is around 2 feet from the basket.

I have to admit, taking off my Texas Homer Hat, he has impressed me. I may act like a pompous fairweather fan online, but in reality, I am the most critical Texas fan ever, not just of basketball either.

LaMarcus is the real in deal. The compe ion has been meager, except that championship tournament game. But his performance in that game is what inspired me to write this post.

I still hate PJ Tucker for wasting an entire year of eligibility, but LaMarcus has more upside than anyone on this team, and with Tucker, they make rebounding and second chance points look easy! Not to mention Senior Brad Buckman out of Austin.

LaMarcus is this year's James Thomas.

    BOOK IT

Every time a guard brings the ball inside, there is one thing on the mind of young LaMarcus. One sentence, one thought, continuous, flowing both in and out of his mind with each dribble the guard makes towards the hoop.

"I'm not gonna let this stand"

    and he wont.

I think the reason people are not taking the ***official*** LaMarcus Aldridge thread seriously is because of the nature of its le.

They see the le and assume its just another poor Mookie thread

Every time LaMarcus gets an offensive rebound and easily puts it back, he gives a sly glance to the opposition.

One thing is going through his head, and if you could read his mind, it would say this:

"Not. A menora. You spin. A driedel."
