Seattle and it's defunded police is up there with black-on-black violence so far as things Dems refuse to talk about.

you have to admit that the word "defund" was poorly chosen by the democrats. Now, Republicans think and promote the idea that democrats want to take funding out of the police, which would lead to more violence.
It's a dumb phrase but it wasn't really chosen by Democrats... it was a rallying cry that got picked up by Republicans and branded as mainstream Democrat policy despite having about 20% approval among Dems. Still, it was stupid and Democrat leaders should have done more to distance from it. Conservatives are much better at branding policy. Republicans don't call it "Defund the Children" when they threaten to pull funds from schools over mask mandates.
But places like Seattle where police budget reform has been discussed but not implemented still get branded as cities who have "defunded the police" by conservatives who either don't know better or who are simply lying altogether. Something else they're better at.
