Fvck!
To he fair, Klutch hasn’t ed over the Spurs yet. Murray has one of the best, if not THE best, contracts on the team.
also, in case anyone had forgotten, Lonnie is with Klutch too.
these guys should have signed with White’s agent if they wanted to over the Spurs.
Yeah, Klutch isn’t the boogie man. As I’ve always said, the agency works for the player, not the other way around. After Morris screwed us over, Klutch dropped HIM.
I have a bad feeling about extending Johnson.
I just don't care for him as a player at decent salary. Bad defender most of the time, too small to play 4, not skilled enough to play 3. Hustle player without hustle stats, seems to get fatigued too easily. Hate seeing him defend the ball handler in the pick and roll, doesn't get skinny to get over, doesn't fight to get under.
Hope he's traded, not too optimistic about his future. If Primo is as good as people like to hope, and Vassell continues to show, then in a future 5 man lineup of Poeltl-Johnson-Vassell-Primo-Murray, Johnson will be the weakest link and position to upgrade.
He's not close to the Bridges guys for instance but will probably want to paid like he is.
Uh....are you forgetting the time where Klutch had his agent (Marcus Morris) verbally commit to the Spurs, then had his agent (Marcus Morris) break that commitment to go to the New York Knicks for more money on less years with the expectation that he would get dealt to the Clippers to play with another one of their agents (Paul George)...which, sure enough, ended up happening?
Are you forgetting that the Spurs gave up Davis Bertans for basically nothing just so they could sign Marcus Morris (based on said verbal agreement) who never spent a single second in a Spurs uniform?
Are you forgetting that Morris actually fired and left Klutch after the whole ordeal because he ended up losing money and looking like an asshole just to end up with a Clippers team that choked in the playoffs?
Klutch. Unless you are a superstar like LeBron, they don't have your best interest in mind. Just ask Nerlans Noel who currently has a lawsuit open with Klutch for hiding interest from pursuing teams and potentially cost him $58M because it didn't fit their agenda.
Sure glad I'm not the only one that thinks this. This is SA's issue... they just hold on to prospects too long.
dude you made four paragraphs about one incident. Yes, i remember clearly what happened. No, I don’t think the blame lies solely on Klutch.
I feel the same way. I'm hoping we can upgrade with some package of Kj, Thad, and/or White for a player or picks..
AGAIN
The agency works for the player, not the other way around. Morris screwed us. Klutch dropped him like an ugly girl right after.
haha like wow
Considering how Klutch s over their lesser clients, this is a profoundly stupid move.
It was def the agents (Marcus Morris) fault. The agent (Marcus Morris) got himself a better deal away which is what any of us agents should do!!!
You can fact check that Klutch dropped him shortly after. There was a thread here, but with search turned off here, you’ll have to search the web.
Klutch reps a third of the league at this point I bet. LBJ took some of his ppl out of poverty and now they are helping their clients get paid. Deal with it boys and girls; it is unlikely to have any implications on whether we retain Keldon or not and and at what price clears the market.
Dejounte clearly talked him into it
It makes sense to get a real agent when looking to sign a rookie extension. Initially, it's not a big deal with a rookie scale, but now there's the contract and a number of endorsement opportunities. An underrated part of being with Klutch is to have easier access with a number of stars. Johnson has USANT cred to help him with some guys, but getting workouts with stars (and the people who train them) during off-seasons should help his game.
OK, I'll keep it short. Do you not think that sets a precedent?
I think Klutch has a rep of being negligent toward their non-stars, and that's not good for Johnson. But they don't have a rep for being team-unfriendly. That's just something people like to assume because of the Lebron connection. The Morris thing was much more about Klutch not doing due diligence in getting Marcus a good deal than it was about them not stopping him for reneging.
Wasn't there talk that they couldn't get a hold of him when a team wanted to sign Noel?
or was it because the Knicks were reportedly out to fvck the Spurs for apparently tampering with Porzingis? Too many arm chair quarterbacks on this board who don’t understand life. MM literally got double to play in a way better city and eventually get traded to a contender. How many ppl on this board won’t renag to double their 50k a year salary?
Yeah. That's something Klutch would definitely be wrong about if it's true. But that's because they weren't advocating for Noel, not because they were being team-unfriendly. Johnson might have to worry about Klutch not really trying hard and leaving dollars on the table for a Spurs extension or more likely that they won't hunt for good endorsement deals for him. The Spurs, though, shouldn't worry about Klutch screwing them over and trying to force Johnson to LA or whatever. That's not really a thing they do unless like in Davis' case, it's what their client explicitly wants.
