When you get a PHONE CALL telling you that she wants to see other people.
especailly when it was a 3 1/2 year relationship, and all you got was a phone call.
thats when you know it is over.

ok..when you get the voicemail all the time and calling them is like calling Dell Customer Service...you never get a live person at the other end. THATs a good sign its not going well.

I have to agree with CBF. I came out of a 5 year relationship once and remembered these things. Arguements, also, when you begin to feel the distance and see this look in their eyes. Like they want to tell you something but don't know how to bring it out.Lack of communication and arguing are definitely signs that something is wrong. And when you start to wonder if there's something else out there.
