I mean Collins was due in March so not a big surprise
Becky wasn’t even lead assistant after years of being here so not a surprise she left for greener pastures. Also her Blazers interview made me to believe she was out the NBA door
I knew we were gonna suck so somebody was gonna get traded

So Forbes getting assets was def a surprise
DJ being this good was a major surprise. I thought he would struggle way more and his efficiency would be Lillard level. Also didn’t think he could handle being double teamed.
But Keldon is the winner. Dude has done something I’ve never really seen before. A broken shot be fixed almost immediately and his mindset be fixed into a shooter mentality. It’s crazy. This usually takes years and years and years, if at all.

Great poll! For me it’s Derrick White being traded. It seems like his new teammates absolutely love him, Tatum in particular. The trade was good for both White and the Spurs. White would be a great player to add to a SF franchise player like Tatum. White was always a bad fit with DJM. Turning White into a few players and a first round pick, plus the puck swap is a testament to the Spurs development program. All around good stuff.

Keldon turning into a sniper was a close second for me. I am curious to see how true his shot stays over the next few years. He’s been so ridiculous from three it’s hard to trust he won’t come down to earth eventually.

Easily Keldon shooting the threes the way he has. I did not expect that at all, especially the way he started the season

Keldon for sure. We honestly had a lot of positive surprises this year

Keldon’s 3pt shooting. I’m still skeptical although he had shown signs with that rainbow three last year.

The rest were semi predictable. Maybe not Forbes.

keldon is the wacky result. Murray is a good story but his rise isn't too surprising. His biggest improvement is ephemeral, he's still mostly the same player, just a bit more efficient and confident.

Confidence in Brian Wright should be on the list. Trading forbes was just the first in a bunch of small but mostly good trades. the moves indicate what SA is doing for the next few years and what to expect.

I don't consider trading White to be big at all. The spurs needed to trade a guard to balance the roster and trading the oldest is smart.

because the Bucks won last year and Forbes was a valuable bench asset for them, I assumed he could yield us at least another garbage player in return, so no real surprise. Plus, teams going for that playoff push always overvalue shooters with potential offense before the deadline.

I thought Collins was supposed to be back by January, I had the timeline mixed up, but no surprise that he is back.

DJ was already showing signs of breaking out, and without DDR black holing the ball, it has allowed him to shine.

Becky was going to leave soon, but I thought it would be an NBA gig. I was not at all surprised when the WNBA reached out and snatched her cooter away. I was very surprised and quite disappointed in some of the players ing about her salary. She paid her ing dues in the WNBA and was one of the greatest of all-time. She then coached in the men's ranks for several years, probably making more than she would make in the WNBA. She probably took a pay cut to go there. However, she couldn't balk at the opportunity to not only be a head coach, but also coach one of the two franchises that are dear to her heart.

so that leaves me with Derrick White. I honestly had no chance of White being traded this year. I thought it would be Walker or Poeltl before White. So, of all the scenarios, this one shocked me the most.

Keldon shot very well in the bubble, so the potential was there. It took him 2 off seasons to reach it.
