A sitting president has very little to do with current gas prices or oil production. COVID hit during Trump. And the Russia/Saudi short term price war. Oil prices collapsed. So production did as well. Biden inherited the come back economy where demand cranked up again. Problem is that it there’s a lag time between demand and oil producers cranking up again. Not to mention the artificial constraint imposed by OPEC. Point being that neither Trump or Joe is responsible for gas prices. Maybe a two term president might have some impact by the second term. But in reality, a president doesn’t have much control over what we pay at the pump.
