If you're excited for the Thompsons, Whitmore or Hendricks at 5, calling 6 "meh" doesn't really make much sense since you're guaranteed at least 1 of them (Wemby, Scoot, Miller, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Cam Whitmore and Taylor Hendricks) all the way down to 7. I'd also be happy with Anthony Black at 6 or 7.

If we get 3 or 4, and calling Orlando (assuming they’re behind us) to see if they want to swap drafts.

    ORL: 4, 32
    SAS: 6, 11, 36

Ouch I feel that pain at 2. Would definitely be nervous drafting a small point guard to be the franchise after seeing the way CP0 flames out every single year in the playoffs. 86% chance I'm going to be disappointed as by about 7:12PM.

Don't lose hope if we get Henderson...could turn out to be like Zion Vs Morant

Not a huge Chris Paul fan but if we get a Chris Paul with the #2 pick I would consider that a success.

Scoot is 6'2" and 195 of pure muscle. CP3 is barely 6'0" and 175. I don't think they're overly similar aside from being PGs

I had the sense that Chris Paul flames out every year because he’s old and also because he’s sort of a head case. I think those issues are independent of his height. But that’s as far as I will go defending CP3, he’s probably the player I hate most other than what’s his name on the clippers.

    1. Ecstatic. We would remember where we were when we heard that the Spurs got #1, the same in the summer of 1997. I was hanging out with a friend in Los Angeles. He was a Lakers fan and immediately dismissed Timmy Duncan. Proved him wrong 5 rings and HOFer career later.

    2. Sad for a minute. But the opportunity of drafting either potential franchise player Miller/Scoot should start to sink in as not too bad a consolation.

    3. Same as 2, either Scoot or Henderson is fine by me.

    4. ! Amen Thompson. He is potentially the best athletic player in the NBA. That should be reason to get excited, right??

5/6/7. , , . All those loses to get role players. At this time you suspect the NBA hating the Spurs is real. Why?? Shouldn’t they reward the Spurs for doing right? Playing the play-ins the last few years instead of blatantly tanking like OKC, Houston, Orlando, Detroit. They should be getting the low picks.

And Scoot has ways to go before reaching CP3's bball IQ and shooting. I agree that they're not similar players, but if we knew Scoot would reach that level you take him for sure, that's a HoF player.

It definitely ain't age, CP0 has been flaming out since the days of deferring to Jannero Pargo in Game 7 fifteen years ago.

    If it goes:

    1. Wemby
    2. Scoot
    3. Amen

And we are at 4, the trade back with Orlando could appeal to them if they want Brandon Miller, then we get Black or Hendricks or Walker at 6. And whoever decent falls to 11. I’m still not sold on the FO being active with draft day trades but Wright has shown some spark to make moves so I will tip my hat if he can pull something off.

Orlando is not likely to trade both 6 and 11 for 4.

Will be up at 3 AM Riga Time to watch it.

1st pick. Will stay up the rest of the day in celebration.

2nd pick. Will be sad, but happy we got Henderson.

3rd to 5th pick. Will be interested, then go back to bed.

    6th or 7th... "I got up at F-ing 3 AM for this!!!"

    That's pretty much it.

They could easily get Hendricks at 6 if they want a shooter. So no, I’m not saying this is a high chance.

    My feelings generally, too.

    1 you keep
2 you keep if you value Scoot
3-5ish you try to trade down; it's unlikely those players match the salary requirements or are as good as those spots suggest they are
5ish-7 sure it sucks, but if you were trading down from 3-5 isnt this the spot you wanted to get to anyway? You just missed out on extra draft capital, that's all. That sucks, but it's a lottery for a reason

It’s amazing that some people would view drafting a player like Chris Paul a failure. He is a top 75 player and a hall of famer. I’m not the biggest Paul fan but not every star is Tim Duncan

If we draft Scoot and he has a Chris Paul type career I would say that’s a pretty good pick.

Anything lower than 4 would be a disaster. 3-4 would be exciting. 2 would be awesome. First overall would be sublime obviously.

Morant's no bargain at this point. To do an IG live video with a gun FOR THE SECOND TIME in 2 months is beyond stupid, and there's speculation that the league may suspend him for more than half of next season.

They've got all the forwards they need with Banchero and Wagner.
