Charlotte Getting a good player at #2 is also a great outcome for us.
This dramatically increases the chances that their FRP (top 14 protected) will convey to us in either '24 or '25.

So now, in addition to having Wemby, Sochan, Vassell, Keldon, and a lot of cap space, we have a giant pile of First Round Picks that we can use to draft players or to use in trades to build around Wemby.
I personally expect us to wait a year or two for Wemby to start playing at an All-Star level before we might start trading away FRPs for established players.

They're gonna take Scoot and it's gonna be a weird fit. But they'll make the playoffs.

We also have something like 20+ potential 2nd round picks to play with over the next 5 years.
A few of those won't convey but you get the point. We stacked with assets boys!

I absolutely see them taking Miller, unless they have rumblings from Clan Ball that LaMelo isn’t happy.

They'd have a guy who shoplifted on a basketball trip to China, a guy who beat up his girlfriend, and a guy whose actions lead up to a woman getting murdered. I can see it.

Nah, the thing that will dictate whether CHA is good or not is how fast Michael Jordan sells his ownership stake in the team

Yup why would they take another dominant ball PG? Miller goes to Charlotte and Scoot to Portland as Damian's heir apparent.

Agree. Portland will then have an interesting choice on Scoot given all the Dame noise.

I'd be shocked if it's Scoot and not Miller, pairing 2 extremely ball dominant guards with big egos isn't a recipe for long term success. With that said, he's extremely compe ive and driven, so he'd help them even if he's a weird fit. In any case, they'd have a healthy Lamelo, a motivated returning Miles Bridges, a growing Mark Williams, plus a decent supporting cast with PJ Washington and Rozier. An impactful rookie plus maybe a free agent or trade could be enough for the play in even next season, and then you're a win or two from the playoffs. This significantly improves the odds of the pick conveying.

ESPN's "best prospect" tracker at the bottom of the screen had Miller at #2. He totally makes sense for Charlotte. They tried to sign Bridges to an extension even after he beat up his girlfriend iirc.

That would be a tough argument but then Wemby is no Robinson or Duncan, not even Embiid... or so I hear.

Reminds me of the Family Guy skit.

"Well, Wemby is Wemby but the next first round pick could be anything! It could even be Wemby!"
