Just joking around: If the NBA had a senior league, like the Professional Golf Association (PGA) has a Champions Tour, the Rusty Spurs might be a pretty good team with all the former players hanging around the San Antonio-Austin area in their geezerhood. If the minimum age were 50, same as the PGA, this could be the starting lineup:

George Gervin - 71 years old
    James Silas - 71
    David Robinson - 57
    Sean Elliott - 55
    Bruce Bowen - 52

They used to have a senior game at the ASG…right up until one player blew out an ACL just jogging up the court.

I'd like to see a senior 3 point shootout, where each team has 5 players just standing at a rack. Putting up 5 threes, even if you have to rush a bit, shouldn't cause any real problems.

Apologies for it not being a Spurs player, but here's 5-time NBA All-Star Marques Johnson still dunking at 67 years old. But why didn't he wear a Milwaukee Bucks jersey?

I could swear I saw Havlicek blow his knee out in one of those games in the 80s but now the only injuries I can find are the ones to David Thompson and Norm Nixon that ended the game in 93.

Is Kenon still selling cars for the Lincoln dealership on San Pedro? Bought a car from him there years ago.

I remember Ice in that one. He also used to take part in some televised 3 on 3 events and basically dominate, and then there was this weird senior league started up that I remember Wilt suiting up for, but I believe it only lasted a few games. In today's multi-media world some of that might have worked better than 30ish years ago.

As Ex said, the senior thing has been tried, but not recently. The And1 thing is the closest we've got.
