I can’t believe I’m saying it, but the Spurs will be the new darling of the NBA.
Already Spurs’ nationally televised games have been more this season than the last 2-3 seasons combined, and all because of Wemby. Wemby sells. He is a 7’4” phenom who is staged as the next face of the NBA. He is good-looking and very marketable. He is an Alien. The NBA and the media will calitalize on that. Wemby is amazing but the media will hype it up even more. All those 50/50 calls, fouls, I think we will start to see going the Spurs favor.
It sells to have this kid winning than losing.

And getting the 1/99 calls like Lakers and Warriorths will be "darling" status. Which i don't even want. No fake les, none.

In before the segments about that he should go to Lakers when he fails to win a championship by his third year
1. Wemby grew up idolizing TP who is god in French basketball.
2. France all celebrated when Spurs got the #1 draft to pick Wemby. The Spurs organization is regarded highly in France
3. International players are different that they don’t seek the lifestyle of Hollywood, Big Apple nor South Beach.
4. Wemby doesn’t have an Uncle Dennis with ulterior motives to move to a bigger market.
5. Wemby has met DRob, Timmy, Manu and Tony who had long careers in the same team and eventually enshrined in the HOF. Who wouldn’t want that?
6. The Spurs is a top championship organization who has blueprints in building championship teams. If it were a Sacramento or Orlando, then I would think Wemby would jump ship eventually.
So yeah. Unless Spurs ed up big time, I don’t see Wemby bolting out.
