Pretty forgiving schedule travel-wise at first glance.
3 "home" games away from home. I think the Paris trip is great, and I understand the Austin trips here in the short term... but I'm hoping this doesn't become a regular thing. San Antonio is home, the Spurs are not a gypsy team.
Halloween night is in Utah so Spurs can haunt the Jazz with all the FRPs they could've had on a fair Lauri deal.
lol Wemby gets a two night stand in NOLA about a week before Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras
lil French nod there
Final few months of the season look fairly tough, will be easy enough to pull the handbrake and secure better odds if we can't make the play-in.
As an Austinite, I'm happy to not have to drive 2 hours each way for a game and it does seem to be effectively growing the fan base here
That final road trip might be a handy relief valve if we need to drop a few games for lotto position. Actually quite a few convenient games after the ASB.
I've got my eye on:
@WAS
2x v DET (home and home)
BKN
CHA
2x v TOR (home and home)
@POR
@LAC
All might be helpful to hand them wins late season. I haven't looked at ATL's schedule yet, but that is certainly relevant.
Another season with no Texas triangle occurrences. Closest is Philadelphia playing at Dal, Hou, at OK, and at SA.
LOL. three games against Houston the first two weeks. Then a back to back against Mavs at home in March. What you doing NBA?
seriously opening against the Mavs again?
I bought tickets for Spurs vs Hornets in Charlotte. Crossing fingers Victor isn't injured when the Spurs come to Charlotte and Pop doesn't pull the bs load management like he did last year despite the Hornets being the first game of the back-to-back.
He'll want to play vs Salaun
Pop let him play vs Bilal when he could've DNP him
just noticed the RRT is essentially 12 games this year
I don’t see it. Six games out, a week off for the ASG, then two home games, followed by a 4 game roadie where two are in NO, one in Houston,and one in Memphis. We never leave our time zone for that last part.
Has the rodeo changed their dates? I never remember coming straight back from the ASG directly home. I also never remember a RRT that was only 6 games.
I'm just amazed that people still go to the rodeo
The two home games are actually in Austin. While technically home games the team still has to travel an hour.
They are B2B games though....Thurs and Fri, so one short trip at least
Ah, missed that, and it explains the direct trip “home”.
A lot of trips this season are like that so travel overall isn't that bad outside the Paris trip.
The league has made an effort to reduce overall travel and imo they have done a great job. It still feels a bit weird to play the same team twice in three days in the same city, but if it means cutting travel time significantly that's a worthy trade-off.
