Will not impact the 2024 presidential election. Get ready for more maga demand for more copium

The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to revive parts of a Republican-backed Arizona law that could have barred thousands of voters from casting a ballot in the November presidential contest or voting by mail, but it permitted other controversial requirements of that law to take effect.

The Supreme Court left in place a lower court’s ruling that barred enforcement of the law that required voters to do ent their US citizenship to vote in this year’s presidential election, but it allowed the state to enforce a requirement that would-be voters do ent their citizenship before registering to vote in state and local elections.

This is hypertechnical bull AZ brought on itself. That the RNC can get emergency Supreme Court shadow docket relief during the election season seems to be a novelty -- perhaps it will become a custom.

It would be an exaggeration to say GOP lawfare to spoil the 2024 election just started -- it started in 2021.

it's a legal strategy that depends on SCOTUS backing their bid to spoil a second consecutive election.
