His agreement with her during covid was that he'd do all the working and she would take care of the home and kids and be the home maker. They had already had their daughter together in 2019 and lived together but weren't officially legally married yet and covid delayed their wedding in 2020 to 2021.
I was best man at his wedding around the mid point of the covid era (April 2021) around the time people were slowly but surely starting to ease off the masks. Of course nobody at that wedding wore masks anyway because it was mostly about a third of the bros from our frat and her church and sorority friends and everyone there was pretty conservative leaning.
Then they went to Florida for their honeymoon and made their 2nd baby, the boy. During that summer/fall 2021 which Nick and I spent a lot of time hanging out golfing, shooting guns, gambling, six flags, and even to a Slipknot/Killswitch Engage concert in Dallas. Their son was born Jan 2022. Then they remodeled their HOA house to accomodate both him and his office space he needed for work and the new baby. Then last year Mic e threatened to get a job because he wasn't "giving her enough money" or whatever and so he sold their house in Fort Worth to try to prevent her from getting a job so they moved out to the country way up near Wichita Falls. Then she ended up getting an office job anyway in Wichita Falls and that ruined their marriage because he kept telling me he thought she was messing around on him with her gay boss or other coworkers and that she was no longer being the homemaker he expected.
I'm super close and supportive of Nick, he's been ultra depressed since the divorce the last few months, so his dad works for American Airlines and they have a ton of frequent flyer miles and he's been flying all over the country trying to find himself. But the way Mic e looked at me kinda mischievously a couple times like in the summer of 2021... like when I was in swim trunks at his parents' pool at the fourth of July party even though she was pregnant at the time and of course I'm not going to to mess with my best friend's wife especially considering I was his and his parents' guest... just makes me wonder if she might have always been attracted to me. She was always quick to compliment me and accommodate me and do nice things for me whenever I'd visit, mostly in 2020 and 2021... idk if it was just being a good friend-in-law or was it more.
Anyway he basically labeled her a cheating feminist who went out to get a job against his will and she divorced him and he's been ungodly depressed about it since and he's been not talking to me much the last couple months. The $300k deal was with the company in California that ghosted us after I wired that company he got involved with the money. As it turned out that Gustavo Hernandez guy we were working with was from Colombia and had ties to the Medellin gang, no joke. I never got my money back.
