"Back on November 1, the Pennsylvania supreme court reaffirmed that a state law requiring mail ballots to have handwritten dates on the return envelopes is cons utional. The court, collectively, did not stutter. They did not include any ifs, ands, or buts. They did not say there was an exception if the election was particularly close, or if a Democratic in bent senator really wanted to stay in office."

"In fact, the Pennsylvania supreme court made a similar ruling in September. Justice Kevin Dougherty offered a rather scathing rebuke to litigants who were attempting to change the rules of what counts as a legally cast ballot before the election:

“This Court will neither impose nor countenance substantial alterations to existing laws and procedures during the pendency of an ongoing election.” We said those carefully chosen words only weeks ago. Yet they apparently were not heard in the Commonwealth Court, the very court where the bulk of election litigation unfolds. Today’s order, which I join, rights the ship. And it sends a loud message to all courts in this Commonwealth: in declaring we would not countenance substantial alterations to existing laws and procedures during the pendency of an ongoing election, we said what we meant and meant what we said.

Now, four counties in Pennsylvania have given a middle finger to the state supreme court and declared they’re going to count those ballots anyway, in open defiance of the law."

It seems like they are done counting and McCormick still won by 17K votes. Of course they'll recount, but it's not going to be overturned.

They also likely stole the Wisconsin senate seat with the 90% Baldwin Milwaukee dump at 5am, but there's unfortunately nothing we or the GOP can do about that since Wisconsin is controlled by a (D) governor and a (D) supreme court. Midterms and special elections have consequences. Wisconsin has some of the craziest ideologue white liberals in the country. That state almost voted for a self admitted black nationalist (in a >90% white state!!) over an in bent Ron Johnson in 2022... for the sake of what, muhbortion?

Out of all the "rust belt" states, I'm by far most bullish on Michigan for the GOP long term (it's next to Indiana and Ohio and has a lot more in common with those states and the suburbs all zoomed red more than the national trend in 2024) while I'm least bullish on Wisconsin (WOW counties all trended blue slightly bucking the national trend and rural areas didn't really trend red much compared to 2020, also WI borders white-liberal bastions in MN and the IL north suburbs) long term. As for Pennsylvania, it's somewhere in the middle, there are definitely trends on both sides. NEPA and the area around Pittsburgh is zooming red, Philly is correcting to the right a bit but, but the Harrisburg area is zooming blue and the Philly collar suburbs keep getting bigger and slightly bluer.

The Michigan senate seat was also a soul crushing loss but Rogers wasn't expected to win given he wasn't a congressman for 8 years and Slotkin is a career overperformer. The fact that Rogers only lost by 0.3% and 18,000 votes still proves that Rogers was a very good candidate. I still think he's a potentially good enough candidate to potentially beat underperformer Gary Peters in 2026, especially if the Michigan gubernatorial continues the eight-year cycle of electing a Republican there, but it depends on the candidate and GOP turnout in swing states and swing races in midterm years have been unusually ty in the Trump era.

There's no way to fix it. The Dems will be on defense more often than not even with the senate minority. Also, RCV is going down in Alaska, so Murkowski is 100% done in 2028. The only RCV state left is Maine which actually favors the GOP, lol!!

Even in in the wake of an amazing, historic win, Trumplandia is still churning with affliction and grievance.

Down ballot matters long term more than who wins president.

I cede to your good point.

I can see why you don't want to count all the votes.

Why should they count ballets that are not legal to count

Why have the laws for the ballots if it does not matter

It's a federal election for a federal position, and so there's always the alternative to appeal to federal courts. Remember Texas appealing to the SCOTUS in 2020?

It's a long shot, and the (R) fella will probably be the winner anyways.

All that said, all those technicalities to throw the votes are straight up vote suppression, IMVHO.

Throwing away illegal alien voter votes is vote suppression now?

    You're part of the problem.

Not having a handwritten date is evidence of illegal alien votes? You're part of the problem.

I'm also pointing out these things always end up in federal court, and at some point, even the SCOTUS. Remind me which court decided the Bush vs Gore case, for example, or most of the challenges by Trump in 2020.
