Sochan, Johnson, Vassell headline. Followed up with Collins, Bran Ham, and to a lesser extent Wesley. You could also throw Champegnie in there too. Is there a team that offers up a group of 5-7 players who are dumber, BBIQ-wise? And if so, who?

The drop off when Wemby/CP/Castle comes off the floor is beyond palpable. The re -reserve that comes in to sub have been with the team longer than any of the aforementioned three. So maybe you can add BWrong/PATFO to the list as well. Which, personally, I disagree with. But the related issue is: when did the front office lose the sunk cost fallacy plot? We have large swaths of the roster just rotting on the bench, doing nothing. If they’re not playing, that’s a good indication they haven’t developed. So what exactly are they doing?

And before any slurper clears their palette to begin ingesting, I don’t care about today’s game. I do care about getting into the play in and having a semi-meaningful game or two for Vic and Steph to learn from. My complaint here is about the near-decade long inertia that will prevent them improving the roster to get the key guys in a position to gain said experience.

Is it the coaching? Is it the players? Is it the planetary alignment? Who can tell, but whatever it is... it isn't working. These AwefulCoaching breakdowns are pretty illustrative of where our collective team cohesion is.

Vassell and Sochan just went for -30. Jeremy's-30 was in just 14 minute's. That's gotta be hard to do. If they're even thinking of having those 2 as an important future core the team is ed no matter how good Victor becomes

Pop stopped teaching basketball a few years back. Mitch doesn't know enough. We need a new coach who knows the modern game.

No news here, it was already the case last season with the same personnel. We just added 2 vets

Some fans seem to think you can change a player's IQ like you fix his jump shot

Sochan is probably focused on his next hair color rn

    Bad coaching tbh.

Don't give a what anyone says but Mitch had something going and then we started doing something different. If we're tanking, ok. If not, we gotta get poop out.

His problem is the same problem many coaches have: adjustments. He has a gameplan, which looks good on paper, but he sticks to it even when the s circling the toilet bowl.

Great coaches are masters of adjustments. They convince their players the adjustments will give your team the advantage. Not seeing it right now, tbh. Had high hopes, too.

Maybe. But they are all outstanding members of society and that is more important than basketball. Leave your boos and your politics at home when you buy those tickets (unless your politics are mine)

Our players make some bonehead decisions there's no doubt about it, but this kind of stuff is on coaches imo. I appreciate Mitch having to fill in, but it's been clear that when we win, we're winning despite our gameplans, not because of them. We live and die by whether or not Wemby has an out of the world game, and whether or not teams are good enough to abuse the non-wemby minutes to put games out of reach. Obviously not sustainable.

A lot to think about this off season if Pop isn't going to be able to make a full return. If we're going to move on from him soon, I'd rather we bring someone in ASAP so they have the offseason to work with the team and help with drafting/trading/piecing together a reloaded squad for 25/26.

Players are coming in with less skills, coaching and are learning the game on NBA courts.
There are so many low IQ players in the NBA right now. Just saw Tari Eason with a reckless closeout with the game on the line vs Cleveland. Garland let him off the hook by missing 3 free throws. Spurs players aren't the only ones.

Unpopular opinion but I think that since colleges are now paying athletes, we should go back to an age limit in the nba. Gotta be 20 to enter the draft or 2 years of college experience.

I think there should be an IQ test at the NBA Combine and we should stop drafting re s.

Realistically, maybe not age limit, but a minimum of 2 college years if you want to go there.

Top prospects would go to the NBA earlier and everyone else would have more time to develop so teams don't have to play a guessing game with fundamentally flawed young players.

I don’t think so. These guys didn’t have a real on court leader until Paul signed on for the duties. PATFO screw up, though I think they’d say there’s a plan in motion.

The Spurs got a few JaVale McGee types on the roster. We use to make fun of low IQ basketball teams. Now the Spurs are one of them. Basketball Gods are punishing us.

I’m shocked they aren’t on Shaqtin the Fool more. Like Champagnie had some real all time bizarre plays yesterday. Sochan and Johnson had some Westbrookian moments too.

You can tell the lights are on upstairs with Caslte because even he is looking at some of these guys crazy.

I thought BBIQ was part of screening process? Run them through scenarios to test ap ude. CP3 shouldn’t have to be telling these guys all game where they need to be on the court.

Every time a guy throws the ball to Jeremy with the clock running out, they should both have to run stairs. That’s how we were taught not to do stupid .

I actually wanted to make a collection of all our stupid plays and combine it with the voiceover from the „Beautiful Game“ video. Would be hilarious. „The Spurs they don’t get knuckleheads“ as you see them turnover the ball on an inbound play twice in a row

if anybody has the time to do it. Put Primo in there as well

I never understood why they didn’t pay the college athletes. Like Manzel literally got ATM to go from 70k stadium to 105k stadium. The amount of money they made off of him was ridiculous. Now there should be some sort of system in place and it shouldn’t be the wild wild west that it is today but again that’s on college sports for being so damn greedy for generations. Don’t and moan about how tough it is with the transfer portal and poaching of players when you had over 100 years of reaping the benefits of not paying them. Only an idiot doesn’t have a contingency plan in place in case you lose a lawsuit.

More unpopular opinions. I think though that one and done has killed the nba product. Get rid of it. I think nba players should pay for their own hotel and car rentals like wrestlers do. I also think they need to get rid of the Supermax. It has hurt small markets more than helped them. Or redo the contract where they must play a minimum of 4 years on the team they signed with. Limit the amount of 3s they can take per half to 20. It’s a technical if they go over. And players only get paid for games played/dressed.

The proper way is to say low bb IQ. The answer is most of our players have a low bb IQ and do not seem to learn from their mistakes.
