I'm only half listening from the other room, but I guess there was a shooting on an American Airline jet. It's landed and a SWAT team has shown up.
It was a flight from Medellin, Colombia to Orlando FL, apparently. It looks like one of the air marshalls shot a passenger and they are evacuating the other passengers from the rear of the plane. I can't get to a TV, that's just what I learned from the internet.
So far the tenative story has a suspect shot by a US Marshall after threatening the safety of the plane.

A senior administration official added that the passenger claimed to have a bomb in his carry-on luggage.

Guy deplaned, had a fight with his wife, was going to get back on the plane, got on to the jet way and said he had a bomb. Then he rushed the marshalls while reaching into his bag and they shot him.
What we have here is a failure to communicate.
That's how he wants it...well he gets it.
Um, when a federal air marshal tells you to stop with a gun pointed at you, stop. This doesn't mean continue to run and reach for something in your handbag.

Sadly I suspect this is just another form of suicide by cop, except it was by air marshal.
A friend of mine is local 737 pilot that has a Flight Deck officer license. I helped him get tighter groups on his shots at the range.
Hey if they are flying the plane they might as well pack. I would of put revolvers on em long time ago (revolvers are idiot proof).
These Air Marshals have a hard job I would not want.. 99.9999% total bordem and a split second responsibility. But I feel safer flying with them around.
