i think he's actually good, just not a star. to me he's like Teddy Bridgewater, who was actually doing fine before he destroyed his knee. i dont really watch college ball until its close to NFL draft time then i go back and rewatch. my impression of sanders from media hype was this manziel-esque wild playmaker. going back and watching him, he was actually just a very sound, accurate passer who is a passable athlete but not a particularly good one. he often had to improvise because their OL was egregiously bad, and he had no problem taking hits while throwing. i very rarely saw him miss throws.
he's just not a plus athlete and doesnt have a particularly strong arm, but imo he plays the right way and is incredibly tough. even if his persona is something like an en led diva, he doesnt play that way imo.
i think he goes in the top half of the second round
bridgewater went #32 overall in his draft, behind bortles/manziel and just ahead of carr. and thinking back, man, 2014 was was such a home run for the raiders overall. last time we had a good draft. wound up with some good talent in 2019 but largely a function of having 3 first rounders (and blowing 2 of them)
