The first scenario is the Spurs trade both picks this year, the Atlanta pick, and give the swap back to Dallas.

Thoughts? My humble opinion is you jump on that. Vic, Castle and Coop gives you as bright a future as the Spurs have ever had.

In a second. No chance Dallas bites though.

Dallas won't be trading the pick, they are taking Cooper Flagg.

In a sane world, I would agree. The Mavs just made the stupidest trade in the history of sports. 4 picks for CF is downright sensible in comparison.

There is absolutely a chance that Flagg doesn't wind up in a Dallas Mavericks jersey and it's silly to refuse to think so.

Sure, of course there is a chance. I’d peg it at <5% though. I think pretty much the only way Dallas trades Flagg is if his camp makes it very clear that he wants no part of Dallas.

Nico has been talking about how much they value defense when defending/justifying the Luka trade. He’s likely salivating at the opportunity to add a prospect like Flagg. Not to mention they sorely need to give the fanbase something to be happy about again.

Hawks will probably in the play-in for the next few years again. ing East is too weak.

Hence, agree to this trade. But Nico won't be an idiot again

They kind of did with the one trade, but they'd have been better off basing this premise entirely off of 2 and 3, as opposed to 1, which has no chance of being traded.

I really wanted that No. 1 pick when the Spurs were so close to getting it. Not sure what it would take for Dallas to trade it. Also, since learning a bit about Harper, I am going back and forth on how good Dylan Harper could be.

I said it before, kind of need Cooper to indicate to Dallas that he does NOT want to go there.

I want to be part of the "no way Dallas trades Flagg" camp but given what happened earlier this season i think we can throw all logic out the window

I'm 99% sure they will pick Flagg. But there is also a 1% chance Nico finds some deal that he thinks will make him look like a genius and takes it. Very unlikely but Spurs are one of the few teams in a good position to capitalize on Mavs stupidity

People blaming Nico for the Luka trade where clearly the owners didn't want to pay Luka 300 plus million dollars. It wasn't Nico's idea to trade Luka.

No, it wasn't. But I'm sure it was his idea to trade him for Davis while not shopping him around at all.

It's not necessarily the trading of Luka that was idiotic. It's that we all know he could have gotten a ridiculous haul for him and ultimately settled on an injury prone 32 year old and change

Not on the scenario. But I can see Mavs trading #1 pick Flagg if they get both Giannis and #2 Harper. That would give them a Win now on AD and Thompson’s window. Harper, Thompson, Giannis and AD is a championship team. This makes Nico a genius especially if it gets Mavs another ring or two.

    Spurs gets Flagg

Bucks gets Vassell, maybe Lively and multiple FRP’s from Spurs and Mavs, allowing them to have young talents and future firsts to rebuild.

There’s no scenario where we send out #2, and don’t get back either Flagg or Giannis. Dallas will not wind up with both.

Mavs get #2 Harper and Giannis
    Spurs gets Flagg

The Bucks would ask for either Flagg or Harper if they are going to trade away Giannis. Why get multiple FRPs from the already empowered Mavs and Spurs, which might only be in the late First round? Yours is an irrational proposal/scenario.

Bucks want a haul, like KD level, and if the #2 pick is in the trade, they’ll want it, or no deal.

I stand by my statement that Dallas cannot wind up with #2 and Giannis. Milwaukee will not allow that to happen. They will not send out Giannis in a trade that includes picks #1 and #2 and walk away with neither. It’s fantasyland.

If Nico trades away Flagg, I could actually see Mavfan kidnapping and murdering him tbh.
