Is it a requirement that the Spurs announce they are providing help to this disaster?
It's possible HEB is sending those packages because they got money from organizations like the Spurs to do so. At the same time, it would be a departure from the previous strategy to not announce something if they were doing it. Even if they were only motivated by trying to help people, it's bad PR to seem like you're doing nothing, and that is bad for community engagement. There's a difference between making a statement that you're sending money and making a scene in the disaster zone trying to score PR points.

I probably need to study up more on Public Relations Theory then. Too many days watching Mr. Deeds and Anger Management (love those movies), and not opening up a shmook (book), I suppose.
I just figure maybe if the Spurs are helping out, it's help first, then worry about PR later. I have a feeling that Pop is a "We don't announce our good deeds out loud" kind of guy. That's pretty much the kind of person I am, so I can relate.
