Didn't get to see the game, but sounds like we do have some good prospects in the pipeline.

Eh. If they were that good they'd be on an nba roster instead of in summer league.

I don't think there is really such a thing as "pipeline" in the nba. Most teams are comprised of 1st round picks that were drafted by the team and players signed from other teams in free agency. If you are on a summer league team and you not a 1st round pick the best you can hope for is a two way contract or 14th or 15th guy on the bench who never plays making league minimum.

Like highly unlikely Minix ever plays a meaningful minute for the spurs, no matter how much he kills it in summer league. Same for Ingram.

Can't wait to finally move back home to SA next week and start going to games again this fall. The team looks good to me with plenty of great young players and prospects. Last time I lived in SA we still had Artis, Mitch, Alvin, Johnny Moore and Sturgio playing Volver at the end of the 3rd.

When will Harper play? Will Castle play in the Summer League at all this year? Right now Bryant is the only player of note so far in Summer league so far.

Is he too good for it? I thought Summer league was for first two year players to upgrade their game.

Carter played like Caruso or Dort with his aggressiveness on ball. I don’t care if he’s the worst offensive player in the world if he plays like that. His offense is ugly as right now.

My takes from upper deck cattycorner from the Spurs bench:

By far the best defense of the eight teams in Thomas & Mack.
Fast, aggressive, switches, and smooth slide throughs. Ingram, Bryant, & Jones-Garcia were almost running a defensive weave at the top of the 3-point line.

By far, the best lead ballhandler was Jones-Garcia. His angles were quick and toward the paint.

A close second worst lead ballhandler was Nelson. He'd dribble up to the three-point line and stop before his defender. All passes went sideways, and were predicted.
The worst lead ballhandler was Jeremiah Fears. Unaware and sloppy.

My surprise was Dennis. Yes, Bryant was the vocal leader on the first-string defense (and reportedly while on the bench out of my earshot), but the most vocal of the day on the court was Dennis.
The second most vocal was Hunter inson. A stiff, but effective.

My MVP vote for T&M day 1:
    David Jones-Carter
Dalton Knecht (happy that it was just a cramp)
    Nikola Topic
    Yves Missi
    Drew Timme
